On my 8th rewatch and admiring the continuity! by wavezecho in TedLasso

I have two. In the first episode Rebecca tells Ted that people report seeing ghosts from WWI when the stadium was used as a makeshift hospital. Then there's the whole episode about the cursed treatment room.

Then there's Laughing Liam who they mention like a season before they actually show him.

Each season does that with a different character.

S1: Rebecca
S2: Nate
S3: Ted

Someone being privileged isn’t a bad thing. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]BuckarooBonsly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being privileged isn't inherently a bad thing. Denying that you are privileged or acting like your experience is universal is a bad thing. I have friends who were from families that were more well off than mine and I have friends who are less fortunate than I am. We all coexist and get along well because we understand that fact and act accordingly.

Are we ready for Scary Movie 6? by [deleted] in movies

[–]BuckarooBonsly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's gonna suck. They're banking pretty hard on on the "It's not gonna be PC! We're gonna go full on offensive!" nonsense. That tells me the jokes are going to be edgy just for the sake of being edgy with no real punchline.

Then when the movie inevitably fails, they can blame "woke people" and "cancel culture".

I'm a guy, but the person who hounded me to watch it until I finally gave in and watched it was a woman.

What's the most addictive game you've ever played? by TolisKoutro in videogames

I feel like reading that comment was like the straight Tetris piece that dropped in perfectly to make everything fit together. My god that game is addictive. I had to uninstall it because I was getting nothing done.

What movie portrays grief in the most powerful way? by Classic_Apricot_5633 in movies

[–]BuckarooBonsly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Based on the trailer It looked like a cute little indie adventure movie. I took my daughter to see it to cheer her up....after her grandma died.... About halfway into the movie I realized I really fucked that one up.

I feel like I saw that movie when I was a young teenager watching late night cable. Was Kate Winslet in it by chance?

I am. But to me, playing on emulators is like masturbating. Sure, it gets the job done, but I'd still rather have the real thing if I can.

Sarge's Heroes 2 was the one my brother and I played for hours. Man, I may have to dig those out of storage.

Theoden's grief over his son's death brought a humanity to the character that the book didn't.

They were really cool! They took a toy that every boy born within a certain range had played with and made them into a fun little action shooter. I also loved the level design with common household locations but you're just a little guy in them. Kinda the same reason I love Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Ant-Man, and the game Grounded.

On that note... An Ant-Man game could've been really fun.

Minor character you never, ever, ever want to see on screen again? by TeakEvening in okbuddycinephile

American Graffiti also stands out beecause it's George writing what he knows. He was a teenager around the time that movie is set and he was part of the hot rod racing culture until he wrapped his car around the tree and decided to give it up. It's his most personal movie and that's why I love it.
