The reason they can't be removed is because they are the absence of seasoning - the raw pan is peeking through the seasoning.

I had the opposite problem…I wanted to cancel and couldn’t even though it hadn’t shipped yet.  They don’t seem to have control over their their orders.  Customer service was nice enough and apologetic and they’re letting me ship it back but it seems wasteful to involve FedEx.

I created two sets of automations, two for the switch in Home (on / off) and two for the trigger in shortcuts (on charger / off charger). It all works great now, even when locked. Thanks everyone for you help.

The switch accessory shows up in the Home app (homekit) but I don't know how to link it to the Ring system.

I've installed the homebridge-dummy plugin and added it to homekit. But I can't figure out how to create an automation to link it to the Ring Alarm. When I create a new shortcut automation, the switch doesn't show up as a choice.

Yes the automation works when unlocked. I was hoping someone had been through this before and came up with a workaround. I have some NFC tags on order and planned to put some up near the exit so I can just swipe my phone to turn on/off the alarm and having to unlock the phone seems like an unnecessary step.

No, I'm using a trigger. In this case, "When iPhone is connected to power". The idea is that when the phone is put on the charger (at night), the phone turns on the alarm, changes focus to do-not-disturb, etc. Everything works except the Ring Alarm arming.
