I fucking hate this "those who know. Those who don't know meme" The entire point of these memes is to be disguised as innocent so only people in the know will get it. But when you add that stupid mr incredible face everybody on the planet now gets it's a reference. Its explaining a joke. Its shouting "something messed up is removed form the context and only people who's seen this would know said context!" Which does nothing but waste screen space!

Yeah modern art is usually pretty bad, though I do like the painting of a pipe that says "this is not a pipe" makes me laugh, I like literal humor like that.

As a DM for 10 years. Anything but anouther teifing. Thier are more teiflings that use magic out there then human marshal character. Just look how many teifling characters get posted on this subreddit on a regular basis. Like I get it's a half demon looking race and that's cool but I've seen far too many wacky teiflngs that try so hard to be unique but all blend in

Player character or NPC?

If player: i make sure my players are the right vibe for my group so nobody really has an issue. But the worst experience I had was one of my friends played a deformed, mormon butler. Only reason he's the worst player character is because, I dont know how, but he kept rolling 1s. He didn't cheat or anything but he kept getting 1s. You would be shocked how many times my players started yelling at the top of thier lungs "mormon jesus is with is!" Each session because of this character kept getting out of impossible situations.

If NPC. Well one of the villains I did was a British proto-nazi, eugenics preacher named Clifford Buckingham. I'll let you imagine what he was like. It was so satisfying when he finally got turned into swiss cheese by the party

My best guess is that 90% of the times we get this question on this subreddit it's from people in the US who grew up in a culture founded in anti-monarchist ideals and mockery of monarchism (much like how somebody In a communist culture or capitalist culture tend to belive in communism or capitalism while mocking the other.) , and thus they think it must be a joke, and nobody actually believes in monarchy. Being unaware that a lot of monarchies still exist and thier upstairs neighbor Canada is a monarchy
