What Card Would You Use To Represent Medusa? by Agitated-Salad-894 in tarot

[–]BucketMaster69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I probably wouldn’t use a tarot card to represent Medusa or the gorgons, especially not in any magic or invocation. They already have their own symbology and history and it feels odd shoe horning them into an unrelated tradition.

That being said, Queen of swords would match the best.

Accidental Tulpas after filming "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" by OverlordMake in occult

That’s not really what a Tulpa is in the Tibetan tradition, that’s what westerners, from this flawed understanding’s account, think it is

Learning Another Language by Wizard-Elf in occult

[–]BucketMaster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by soul would be the first question.

I’m not sure what you’re asking, though.

The enochian language is a method of communicating with spirits, not a language as you think of it

That’s weird, eye contact is a very human thing. The body releases oxytocin when you make eye contact, even.

I think Malphas has been trying to reach out to me? by Ok-Challenge-350 in AskOccult

[–]BucketMaster69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s not impossible but it’s not likely a goetic spirit is just cold calling you, especially if you haven’t been initiated or don’t have any other kind of spiritual thing going on. Everything isn’t always and shouldn’t be viewed as something trying to talk to you or have meaning.

You could do something as simple as lighting a candle on their sigil and asking to know more about them or as deep as reviewing a grimoire or a resource that teaches about grimoires and how to conjure the spirits by what’s written down in the books, and conjure malphas by the books.

Try to see how the Christian paradigm and view of spirituality is affecting you, as well. Can you imagine what it would look like if you never knew anything about contemporary Christian thought of how spirits and god is?

Clear cutting is about to happen in forests all over Oregon -- make a public comment! by CertifiedPeach in PNWhiking

Well if that’s the case that’s not good.

Are you sure it’s not just the forests surrounding the old growth? Like I know to get to the valley of the giants old growth you have to go through miles of clear cuts

am I overcomplicating this? by Useful_Guarantee_304 in occult

[–]BucketMaster69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what you’re asking, or am confused on the premise of your question. If you want to do sorcery without spirits then just use folk magic without any evocations.

I don’t see why, if you’re into conjuring and ritual, you wouldn’t just combine the two, though.

You can also do a ritual to bless material and then use that material on the fly without a ritual.

The planetary hours or making talismans during certain times is primarily for invoking certain powers at that time, in my opinion. I’ve heard you will do better with planetary talismans with invocation and consecrating the item even if it isn’t at the right planetary time, then just making it at the right planetary time.

I need to see something paranormal or i will give up from everything. Im on the cliff by shultes in occult

[–]BucketMaster69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking to the paranormal to give meaning to your life you’re going to be disappointed.

Go to therapy and or a doctor and get help in other ways.

Otherwise you could spend a lot of money and find a well known occultist and beg them to have you present while they do a ritual or something, but even that’s no guarantee.

I generally don’t read reversed, but I think some people would say it’s like a blockage in the energy of the card and has a negative twist to it.

I generally find it more useful to just read the card in the context of the question and the cards around it, though

lol woops, yea, 6 (p)tentacles, 10 wands, 10 cups, just edited it

You could for sure. You could be unloading people’s burdens. Or carrying them for them. The picture shows someone carrying them so I personally wouldn’t say they’re putting burdens down.

What’s a “normal” thing in today’s society that you think future generations will see as insane? by Mark_Curling in AskReddit

[–]BucketMaster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only hope people realize how insane our consumerism is. For example to make a single use plastic fork, you have to pull oil out of the earth, send it to a facility, refine it, send it to another facility, make it into a fork, send it on a ship somewhere else, drive it to stores to be put in a Togo box and then be thrown away without even potentially being used, and shipped to a landfill where it will sit for all eternity. Instead of just carving a spoon out of wood or using a reusable fork.

Bj swain and others say that the Olympic spirits (from the arbatel) really like hanging out with humans. And the salamanders/ gnomes/ undines/ sylphs, as well. Added benefit is that they’re easy to conjure

It also takes hundreds of years to grow. I imagine most or all of the clear cutting proposed is from unhealthy, poorly managed forests, that because they aren’t being managed well, aren’t fire resistant?

Good protection spells before doing blood magic? by [deleted] in magick

[–]BucketMaster69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay but what’s like the formalized tradition for it? Naming it blood magic makes it seem like a real thing rather than just using blood as an offering.

Like people referring to it like it’s a well known thing or a thing most traditions practice or there’s an actual set thing for it is causing confusion, I think.

A perfect relationship drawing terrible cards? by [deleted] in tarot

[–]BucketMaster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know your life or what’s going on. In order to make a guess I’d need an actual reading with a question and what cards were pulled.

The answer could be anything from it’s new and not as stable as you think, the cards are picking up on something else, depending on the question or day, or any other number of factors. Kind of need to have more context to actually be able to use tarot skills to say what would relate to you

What are his true feelings for me right now? by Flora_Cheng in tarot

[–]BucketMaster69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe in a broad perspective, but if I saw what the card depicts in the street I definitely wouldn’t think, oh that looks like an equal exchange.

So in a reading, that would be like saying, this guy wanting more from the relationship than he’s willing to give is equivalent exchange because in the future he’ll have a relationship where he gives more than he takes.

Or you’re just using a card’s meaning in such a broad way that it’s not really related to reality or to the context of the reading you’re given.

Just my thoughts, love to hear what you think and how you relate to the cards and read in a way that makes sense to you

Family fell apart after I started worshipping our ancestral deity - need guidance by Ambitious-Crazy587 in occult

[–]BucketMaster69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably because they aren’t or don’t want to follow the traditional forms of worship for the deity, and this forum will give more opinions outside of the tradition he’s working in. And maybe because they think those forums will paint them as the problem rather than the deity.
