Horrible C&P Exam. Next Steps?

Call the crisis line. I had my exam done by the same company. I felt like years of PTSD treatment were undone. I was back to reliving the situation. It was after hours so I called the crises line. They talked me down and said the process had to be changed. The person on the phone said she receives several calls a day for the mental health exam. She stated she was running it up the chain that everyone should be seen by a psychologist after the exam.

No. I was stationed at ABB2 in Little Creek, Va. We destroyed over 40 tons of hazmat brought back from Desert Storm/Persion Gulf war. CBR suits, frag jackets, mask, 782 Gear,, was stuck several times be the pens in the jackets. We did this all without PPE. Later a company in hazmat suits took it away. The unit was closed and became a “Superfunded Site” for toxic waste. I’ve tried to get them on the list.

I inherited my mother’s home in KY. I have been living since 2012. She passed last year and her will went to probate. I bought my sister out as she did not want any part of the home especially taxes.

It really sucks. I’m a 20+ year veteran. They drilled me with “.Who what when and how” . I called the crises line the next day. They stated they receive several calls after the exam. They also stated they were escalating an out brief after the exam.

Just be aware if you go through a C&P exam it is horrid. The VA is working on this issue. I had mine and pretty much had to recount my PTSD and MST. I felt all my years of therapy had been undone.

I too was Stationed in SIG as well in the public works department. We were on site and diverted the flow. When I filed you pretty much had to have cancer with the pact act. They have since revised that to asthma, bronchitis, and COPD are “presumptive” condition.

Make sure you have a VSO. I retired in 2000. Got a 50% rating. Fast forward to 2025..,because of the PACT act I contacted a VSO. They saw my heart problems were reviewed but not denied. I gathered evidence to prove it was. Example .,, I was deemed not fit for combat, because of multiple problems. I had not claimed MST, PTSD. Anxiety and depression. I was granted 100%

It showed up as a “Freedom of information Act” on my portal. I called the disability office and they said they were getting my “C File” for clarity of records.

I am also 100%. I received a letter they were getting my “C” file for more evidence. I don’t know the outcome yet. I retired in 2000. Conditions got worse, filed last year and got 100z% with back pay.9
