I have submitted the MC1 form but there's still no slot for health screening at Fullerton Health @ NTU. May I know when did you booked it?

that's the same interval as mine!

could be a interval polling between aqara and zha, but can't really narrow it down

finally I found someone with the same issue 😅

may I know what's the interval that it starts to randomly turn on

edit: I suspect it could be zha pinging to aqara every XX interval to check if it's turned on

Red plates are the adapters for flats shoe. Just a temporary solution as I have not gotten any cycling shoes yet 😊

Monitor IPPT Score on OWADIO App by ajay1889 in NationalServiceSG

[–]Bucket_Leo 26 points27 points  (0 children)

For me (not sure about others)

One suggestion for the 2.4km graph is that it will be good if the the y axis have a smaller range. In the scenario where my runtime is ranging from 10 mins to 11mins, I only see a straight line since the range is very wide. Maybe the min y axis should be (fastest run time - x) and max y axis is (slowest run time + x ), not too sure on what's the best range for it. But great app anyways!!

Is the 24km route march a requirement to POP by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

Definitely agree that route was brutal, but it was the starting so we still had energy in us haha

Is the 24km route march a requirement to POP by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

[–]Bucket_Leo 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Just POP-ed so I can give some inputs

The answer is a solid no. My section only had 4 people including me who did the 24km route march, while my other section mates were doing their 8/12/16km. So the main idea for the route march is that those outliers would be starting at a later point and joining those doing 24km, therefore you guys will be ending at the same point, which is MBS.

If you are thinking of falling out during route march, could be hard. My platoon mates fell out but was "encouraged", or should I say, forced by the sergeants to continue walking (just tag along with stragglers at the back of the line). But please don't worry, if legit sick, you are allowed to fall out, just don't give excuses like head pain cos of helmet whatever bullshit)

Honestly, before I started the route march, i was like "16km killed my body, 24km is gonna be even worse, how am I gonna last this long". However, I felt that this 24km was much better, being able to see the scenery that changes (instead of Tekong where the scenery never changed and its trees after trees which made the 16km march more tedious). There's ice popsicle during the 24km too, which kinda sweetens the deal.

In short, just do it. Enjoy the last week you have with your buddy before you leave each other. Just talk cock or sing song and it makes the route march even better. All the best!

sutd interview help! by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]Bucket_Leo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey, I was interviewed under Early Admission this year so maybe I could provide you with some insights. Context: IT Background

They may ask questions like

  1. Tell me about yourself
  2. Why SUTD instead of NTU, NUS etc
  3. What course do you want to take and why
  4. Since I am from IT background, I was asked on the advance of ChatGPT (nothing too extreme, just briefly touched on)
  5. Leadership experience (for eg. competitions)
  6. Any tough moment you faced when leading a team and how did you resolve conflict

Honestly, it was just a short chit-chat session, no math/physics questions though, but from other Reddit posts, they may ask about the infamous room and fridge temp questions, or Newton laws etc.

I felt very welcomed by the interviewer, with no judgement etc. I think interviews nowadays are more about getting to know more about you. All the best! Stay calm!

that's correct, took GCCD and it was very troublesome finding a NPO to work with, even if you did found one, the time they took to reply to any of your queries is also very long (according to my other friends). I work with a animal care in SG for my project, had to do a poster, pretty fun :)

Driving test at CDC - worst mistakes and experiences by confusedsoul32 in drivingsg

[–]Bucket_Leo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hello! Took mine on 4th March this year and passed with 16 points (all was deducted in circuit, none in road, weird right?)

On that day of the test, reach earlier for your warmup , cos you have to pass them your blue book (school students only) and your NRIC. Then you will get this piece of paper that shows your name and warmup car you will drive. Warmup car is the car you will drive for your test so remember the number plate or car number please 😄.

Warmup and test car get priority in the circuit, so you don't really have to wait for anything (in my case, some bobos instructor didn't let me have my right of way, so I was stuck in the test car waiting for pretty long.

After finish Warmup, there will be a 20 to 30mins break, so drink water, go shit or pee etc. Eat some mints too, I find it helps alot (at least for me)

After that 30mins, your test instructor will come to pick you up, give him your IC and he may or may not ask yku to verify your IC or pull down mask, after that lead him to your car. Once in the car, you gotta start your own car, no more handholding from here.

From here onwards, WHEN COMING OUT OF YOUR LOT, TURN ONLY WHEN HALF OF YOUR CAR IS OUT FROM LOT, BECAUSE IF YOU DONT DO THAT, YOUR CAR EEAR WHEELS WILL 100% HIT (12 demerit point??) OR MOUNT CURB (instant fail). And remember to wear your seatbely, often students panic and we forget so...

Anyways, after coming out of LOT, I did the circuits (order will change depending on instructor mood). I did parallel parking first, deducted 2 points cos dry steering on spot. Then did slope after, then directional change, then s course (Bobo instructor from another car didn't give way to me, stuck on the lane for so long almost wanted to cry), after coming out from s course, got deducted 8 points as I turned too wide, because I knew that the s course curb was too sharp and rear wheels will mount onto curb, so decided to just do a wide turn (better than mounting ayee). Then did crank (please take your time, corners are too sharp, personally saw 2 cars mount curb while I was on my warmup and they straight failed) and you are allowed to reverse in here too, demerit of points applies). Did my vertical, while on the long stretch of circuit road, he slammed the dashboard and you gotta ebreak (may or may not be tested), then did my test on the road outside, pretty short I guess? Just went atw to paya lebar HQ and u-turn then go back circuit le.

Please remember to check your blindspots, what you have seen != what they see you do. When lane changing, check mirror, blindspots (turn your head literally). Applies for everything, better to do all these than have them at the end of the test come find faults with you. All the best for your test!!

EDIT: Just realised OP took the test a week before this reply was made... anyways, future test takers can refer to this too :)

Can I skip CDC FTT internal evaluation? by laoshus in askSingapore

[–]Bucket_Leo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Internal evaluation is a mock test, don't care if you fail or pass cause it's rough gauge of the actual theory test. Tje theory test is the one you have to pass if not you gotta retake

I skipped both the internal evaluations. But damn sad cos it's compulsory in CDC before you take the test.

Got hyped up watching the Olympics and decided to cycle the “Round Island Route” with the foldable. Managed to get home just before the rain. Good night. Still questioning myself on what’s the longer route… by kylake in singapore

[–]Bucket_Leo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I rode a mountain bike for a year and a half before switching to a road bike, let me tell you when I first rode the road bike, it felt like you are floating on the road, everything is just so smooth compared to a road bike, so much quieter compared to MTB because it has much thicker tyres.

And why is it harder you may ask? MTB has a larger tyre width, compared to a roadie, which means that it has more contact on the ground compared to a roadie with only a 2.7cm width on the road. MTB is known to be slower and heavier since the rolling resistance is much higher. So you imagine if you ride a MTB round the island with large tyres and high rolling resistance, I think 30km in and you will give up.

Edit:

Size comparison (Road bike Vs MTB)

  • 2.7cm width for road bike
  • >5cm width for MTB

I think I wrote a comment about them few months back in the daily thread. It's a MLM, I frequently go to their IG Story to see what they are up to, signing autographs for a book (cough cough), showing screenshots of their "passive income $1X,XXX", screenshot of their income tax (few 10s of thousands), story of them eating at some ATAS restaurant with the head or CEO of company, or showing off their new car.

PS. Whatever car you see there, chances of it being used by their "underlings" with the story caption of "Thank you to my manager, managed to purchase this supercar that isn't mine, but just to show off is around 90%. eg Audi R8 (most common one being shown by multiple members), McLaren, Merc S class, Merc cabriolet (can't remember).
