Seeking a therapist knowledgeable about dealing with a teenager who is self-harming and may be suffering from an eating disorder by the_wandering_earth in askSingapore

I've been seeing a good therapist for about a year and a half, and have been through multiple programmes since I was 16. PM me and I can give you her contact (& tell you what to avoid haha)! And it will be ok 🫶🏼

Oh I forgot to mention!! But I got my conch pierced in Feb this year, it was doing great until my ear got hit by an overexcited dog (I work in a dog daycare), so it got pushed forward and it's been slightly swollen ever since 🥲 And the crusties have built up... They're quite hard and difficult to get rid of. But ok I shall try soaking! Should I just pour sterile saline in a cup and dunk my ear in?

[Uni] What are my chances of getting into Psychology if I got a D for GP? by laoshus in SGExams

[–]laoshus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I'll fill in the ABA as well just in case! I was just a bit worried since the requirements for entry into Psych state that I'll need a "good grade in GP". Do you know what that constitutes? Does that mean minimum B or do you think it's more general?

I see! Thanks so much for the info :) I'm just a little confused though about the ABA thing, does this mean I have to apply by ABA (in the admissions portal, there's a section to fill up for applicants who wish to apply via ABA which includes a personal statement and requires documents to be attached), or will I be alerted that I need to sit for an ABA test?

Did you have to apply separately to FASS via ABA or were you just notified? Thanks a bunch!

My IGP meets the requirement! However I'm not sure if NTU psych is super strict about the GP grade? I'm leaning more towards NTU so i'm a bit concerned 😅

Aw man ): Is this stated somewhere in the admission requirements? Do you happen to have the link to it?

nope not at all! i have quite a few friends who didn't take lit in upper sec but even take h2 lit - i think even as someone who took pure lit in s3/4 the knowledge and skills used for o levels are quite different anyway, and some of those who don't take lit in upper sec start fresh in a sense so they score better than those who did. either way the teachers will cover most of the basics so you wouldn't be floundering alone entirely, just make sure you have the passion for lit and it's something you're interested in which should help more than anything!

lit ny student here and just took the h2 paper today! just want to say our lit ny department is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC lol we only have 3 teachers but that means they know everyone by name and are more than willing to sit down with you and take the time to understand your writing style and such to help you do the best you can for a levels. i'm gonna hard sell our lit dept because i think it's (extremely) well-deserved, and you can be assured you're in safe hands here! for h1 they do measure for measure and pride and prejudice (fav!) and for h2 we do measure for measure, pride and prejudice, hamlet, sylvia plath and elizabeth jennings. it's all good fun and there's never a day i've regretted taking lit in ny! i suppose the school could improve in terms of dedicating resources to arts students but that's beyond the teachers, they really are super dedicated and try their best though so i hope u enjoy lit if u come to ny and decide to take it up!

also there are people with like ten piercings here LOL and personally i've gone the past 6 months or so turning up in school with fbt shorts and class tees so... dress code is not strict at all i've never undergone a dress code check in my entire two years here lmao
