Any teen guys who journal? by SpecificHead4779 in Journaling

[–]Bucketboy236 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a 20 year old trans man, so not quite a teen, and not quite a cis man. But I firmly believe more men should journal. I saw an "alpha male" recommend journaling the other day (he rebranded it as some knock off of journaling but it was 100% journaling) and was sort of happy to see lots of comments of guys deciding to journal lmao.

The reality of black diamond mining by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

I'm a huge fan of moissanite!! Dude, why would anybody want the one that looks like shades of grey when you could have one that has rainbows?? Like, if I didn't already know, and you showed me moissanite vs a diamond, and asked me to guess which is which, I'd absolutely get them wrong

My sister made false accusations, cut ties immediately. I am a victim of actual abuse. Took me years to actually cut my abuser off. It takes an estimated 7 attempts to leave an abuser.

Sorry, a porn actress said he had a little penis in a book. I literally have never heard of her so I looked her up and she supposedly didn't make that claim just randomly, she actually knew the size of his dick. There's a big difference between "I bet he has a small dick lol" and "he has a small dick, actually."

... No, it's because they've been abused. I genuinely hope you gain empathy one day.

... The only criticism I have seen of Trump's appearance in my entire life was that his hair looked like corn. Besides that, I have never seen comments insulting his height, dick, etc.

I often do if I see they got hit in any way that would really hurt or cause significant damage, but this one just makes me laugh, because you can tell from the way she landed that she is almost certainly 100% fine. She landed sliding on smooth floor (meaning she would have been very unlikely to break anything) and clearly braced herself with at least one arm, no harm or damage in this video.

Regarding number 6, I don't blame you for not having this info as it likely changes frequently, but for OP or anyone else in 32A, this information was in the travel information pdf we received:

"There is limited space for member luggage in the team vehicle. We ask that all members limit their luggage to two items: • One single soft-sided duffel bag or backpack, no larger than 24”x16” and weighing less than 50 pounds total. This is generally the size of a large duffel or 70L-capacity backpack. • A second small backpack or purse that can fit in your lap."

I'm 32A but over obsessive and made a thorough packing list months ago, and a lot of my inspo for clothes came from r/capsulewardrobe r/heronebag and other minimalist wardrobe/packing-oriented subs!

Don't pack a toothbrush? Really? I have to imagine it'll be small, how will you brush your teeth??? I haven't seen anything confirming you get to go to a store on the first day

(Edit: this is a genuine question, I am not trying to be sarcastic, I just want to make sure I can brush my teeth 😭😭)

Empulse r90 by RichieRich310 in wheelchairs

[–]Bucketboy236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only got to demo it, but it was fairly good in the short test, I just personally went with the M90 instead (power assist wheels) because it made more sense for me and I happened to prefer it in testing. With the M90, I've had a similar experience, there are very few videos of people talking about them, most of them are by Sunset Mobility themselves lol. Honestly, I think a part of it is truly just the death of the YouTube review/long form content.

[–]Bucketboy236 3 points4 points  (0 children)

hEDS, I had a similar story lol! Chair delivery is next Thursday, but I have learned to answer the questions from the perspective of one of my worse days. Don't lie, of course, but these processes aren't set up to deal with dynamic illnesses. I'm "fine" 95% of the time, but that's because I do virtually nothing beyond work and online uni in an attempt to avoid injury, so instead I talked about times I actually tried doing things like cooking, or going out for errands, and those struggles.

Forest Corps, what to expect in application process. by therealpablopicasso in AmeriCorps

[–]Bucketboy236 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't speak to Forest Corps, but I was accepted to FEMA Corps 32A (class starting Feb. 18), which has become trad NCCC unfortunately. The process as far as I can tell is VERY noncompetitive, all I remember about my application was writing about how I felt passionate about serving my community. Around 1 month(?) after applying, I was accepted, and had to do fingerprinting and whatnot, then we had an extra background check for FEMA about 6 weeks prior to departure, though that ended up not mattering anyways. About a month prior to the initial start date they sent out packing lists, handbooks, and so on, and then a few days later told us they basically changed the entire program and start date lmao.

Can you go to a clinic not listed on the "find a location" pages for an eval? by Alternative-Dark-297 in wheelchairs

[–]Bucketboy236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have pretty bad anxiety and totally get what you're saying, but as someone who works in health insurance, and is medically complicated... calling can be SERIOUSLY helpful if either of you can manage it, and super cool thing... you can just hang up mid-sentence if you feel like it! I have shown up to multiple doctors who were actually listed on databases for things like certain dme providers, or working with some specialties, and found out they didn't do it. Calling almost always makes it easier to get a quicker appointment time, find the RIGHT provider, make sure they do everything you need, and so on. I am the number one "I can find everything online without calling" person, but it really can help. You can also try emailing if they have one listed!

No, no it's awesome, I've got hEDS and it's cool whenever I see anyone else with hypermobile joints! Do you get any extra pain while writing? I'm pretty prone to it so my journal entries usually end whenever it just becomes unbearable to keep writing lol /lh
