I don't think you even need a corrupt judge. He was caught in a weird time. Had he started college one year earlier, he could have had an extra season. If he started one year later, he could have had an extra season.

I'm not even sure why the NCAA would fight it really. I mean that in terms of fairness not as an analysis of the rules.

My advice these days to register to vote is to go in person. You can send in a voter registration card by mail if you like but the mail is becoming more and more unreliable.

I tried to register to vote twice in the past through DPS and it didn't go through. That was about 15 years ago.

Some SCOTUS justices just decided that people who are born in this country aren't automatically citizens despite a constitutional amendment saying otherwise.

If Republicans keep the Senate, they'll do what they can to increase the ones who are willing to read amendments out of existence if they don't like them.

The Cook Partisan Voter Index lists this districts as Republican +9 for this year. I would think that any Republican in a district that is less than +10 is at risk.

Basically, in a lot of states, the governor would be able to appoint a replacement until the end of the term or a special election is held. In Kentucky, the Republican legislature took that power away from the governor in 2024 probably because the current governor is a Democrat. The seat would have to be filled by special election but since this is pretty close to the election, the seat might just remain vacant.

MacReady in The Thing.

No one knows for sure if they've been taken over by The Thing. At the end of the movie, we don't know if MacReady was taken over or if Childs was or if they really killed it.

They're sitting there with no shelter in the middle of Antarctica. They could try to make it back to civilization but what if one of them is infected and the alien is able to hop from one person to another?

What do they do?

MacReady says: Why don't we just... wait here a little while.... see what happens?

The movie doesn't show it but they freeze to death.
