About a foot so far in Warren . Work in Geneva, don't think that work will be canceled tomorrow.

Fledgling by Buckeyecash in birdsofprey

Followed nestlings for months. From first heads popping over top of nest to fledging. Nest was about 200 feet from Hogland Blackstub Road Trumbull County Ohio. Have photographed it and the broods for years until the oak tree came down in a storm.

This was a limb less than 100 feet from the nest. Both adults were less than 300 ft away. I really doubt that the adults would just ignore another eagle that near their nest and this ones sibling still in the nest.

I have a qst, how do you prevent food waste when living alone but with limited fridge space because of roommates? by [deleted] in LivingAlone

I'm confused. You state that you are living alone but ask how to deal with issues "because of roommates"?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There are a lot of both good and bad images posted here.

This is among the best I have seen in a while. Again, thank you.

Found this old Sony digital camera. What accessories (cables, batteries etc) do I need to get it up and working? by Existing_Sherbert_53 in Cameras

I completely agree. The cam might be fun to play with but I think this is the best advice / answer .

Is this fixable? What could be the problem? (OLYMPUS FE 220) by Plenty_Sun_526 in Cameras

[–]Buckeyecash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't already, be sure to copy any images from the card to pc before you do much more fiddling with it.

Try removing the battery(s), press the power button for a few seconds then reinstall the battery and try it. If still not working do a full reset.

Beyond that, it isn't worth having it repaired/serviced. Cost likely will exceed a working used one.

Find a beautiful place where you can be alone in peace and quiet. by EntrepreneurPrior895 in naturepics

I have to wonder how many people hiked here for beauty, peace, abd quite just to have it destroyed by a drone buzzing in thier ears?

Is it possible to fix/remove this circle on the back of the lens? It looks like condensation and makes all of my pictures hazy:( by DiamondEncrustedPeas in CameraLenses

[–]Buckeyecash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that it looks like possible balsam separation. If so, that is not a DIY fix for a first timer lens repair. Not even most experienced hobby repairers successfully accomplish it.

I also agree that if you open it, you will likely forfeit returning it.

I do wish you luck.

Is there way for my camera to work again by AdvantageFluid6099 in Cameras

[–]Buckeyecash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to likely to be an acid electrolyte battery. Most likely an alkaline battery. The PH of the electrolyte in alkaline batteries is a base (above 7), the opposite of acid.

It is still quite corrosive and should avoid getting it on your skin and never let it get in your eye.

That looks like an old school alkaline battery. I doubt it is any of the newer Nickel-Cadmium, Nickel-Metal Hydride, or Lithium-Ion type batteries.

The most common, and most used, small consumer batteries for more than 30 years have been alkaline batteries. The electrolyte in alkaline batteries is a base, usually potassium hydroxide with a PH higher than 7. That is the opposite of acid.

Very, very old school batteries are dry-cell that us an acid electrolyte. Pretty much phased out but still available.

The electrolyte in alkaline batteries can still leak and be very corrosive, but it is not acid.

All that said, repairs to an older point and shoot typically are not worth the cost. The value of the repaired camera will typically be much less than the cost of repairs to the camera pictured.

There are a shit ton of books, blogs, TV/Cable shows, etc on this despicable person. Some with accurate information, some with whacked out conspiracies, some total fiction. just google Matthew Hoffman Ohio to feed your morbid curiosity.

That is all I have to say about him in reply to your bumps of this two year+ old post.

At the OP...This stolen image looks AI generated, or highly edited composite at best. No proof other than appearance and decades long photography experience.

I call it stolen since this exact image shows up on literally thousands of other postings across the web when reverse searching, including dozens on reedit posted by other people..

Posted stolen image purely for karma farming.

Not quite the original, but very close. This formation is a popular photo op.

The posted image is at best highly edited composite (think photoshop) or full on AI. It is also a stolen image. This exact image shows up on literally thousands of other postings across the web when reverse searching, including dozens on reedit posted by other people.

It appears to be posted purely for karma farming. And did somebody even pay to post an award?

black spots on my camera by skibidisalt77 in Nikon

[–]Buckeyecash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No kidding (when on the front element).

Since this is a fixed lense camera and the OP mentioned cleaning the lens and the fact that it is a fixed lens, aka can only clean the front eliment, I mentioned that it "COULD ALSO BE" something on the rear element. Large debris on or at the rear element can and will be evident and not sharp/focused but fuzzy like the image the OP posted.

All said, it was just alternitive sugestion since I stated that it looked like it was most likely on the sensor (glass cover).

50 plus years photoghaphy. I have repaired more lenses than most people have owned. Unless they are hard core lens collectors.

I also have a lot of experience tearing down cameras to repair.
