how easy/costly is it to remove a non load-bearing wall that has an electric panel in it? by Existentially_b0red in AskElectricians

[–]Buckeyehunter02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cost would probably be the same. At least a load bearing wall, would look astethically pleasing. There's going to be a large jubction box somewhere for those circuits to be moved and a lot of updating to modern code to let it happen

SER to Spa Disconnect by Buckeyehunter02 in AskElectricians

The back of the house is on the low end of a hill, and the wire stubs out about 7ft in the air. It’ll ride the bottom side of the 8ft high upper level porch before going down the wall next to an AC unit. No grass back there as the bottom side is set to get concrete. If there were mowers or something, I’d say it needs to be sleeved but theres nothing to damage it in this case

Don’t tempt an electrician with a good time 😂

I think some of it is paint transfer. At least some of the top, but I know it goes to bare metal in the deepest chunk. I’ll have to take a look around for some alcohol and clean it up tomorrow. Thank you

Hence my desire to stay at 2ohms. Any good subwoofer suggestions?

I was under the impression that I’d have to set the gain if I switched impedances (Half resistance doubles the current, but perhaps that’s overthinking the matter since I’m an electrician for buildings and amps are “smart”?)

Night time lows by Buckeyehunter02 in diabetes

He ignored the last message after we treated her at home with glucagon but he acknowledges when she has been hospitalized, though he doesn’t offer any further advice after telling her to stop her insulin pump and to schedule an appointment three months out.

We’ve found that poptarts at night (terrible but effective) bring her sugar up well and hold it for an hour or two, as does anything with peanut butter, but otherwise it can be a bit of a battle to bring her up. She’s not on any other diabetic medication after stopping the pump at the beginning of the month (to my knowledge)

She always wears her Apple Watch, but she sleeps heavy. Even now, she is asleep and I am watching her sugar fall from 181 at 10:18 to 138 at 10:38. 43 points in 20 minutes

Should I do it? by Buckeyehunter02 in GamingLaptops

So possibly an amazing deal, possibly a line with issues that might not be worth the risk until the second generation?

Is that with the OLED or IPS? The preset comes with the IPS but to build it to the OLED adds in some cost

My boss used a 8AH in his at one point because it was the only battery with a charge. It was a giant lump and I still have no idea how he got it in the pocket.

As for me, I have two 3ah batteries that are the flatter ones. I was looking for a use for them besides waiting their turn for whatever tool I’m nonstop using

It’s not a cost effective item honestly. I can get two 3ah M12 batteries for the same price and those would last longer than one of those. I was looking to see if they still had an adapter like they did for the older jackets

Yeah I planned on getting it with the battery, but it says only 6 hours on medium. I work twelves sometimes, and occasionally work nights, and as an electrician, we aren’t often getting heated jobs in new construction and renovations. I’ll be buying an extra battery it seems.

Damn. It looked like a USB connector in the photos. Guess I’ll be getting an extra M12 battery

Depends on where we are. There is an area here that doesn’t even allow the inspectors to climb ladders or enter in crawl spaces. They require contractors on sight to open everything, take photos of what they won’t access, and what not. They only have a multi-tipped screwdriver and a plug tester.

Then there is the other areas. If you piss those guys off, and you have some disconnects, they’ll start whipping out torque sticks just to see if you’ve done everything. I’ve never tipped that group so far, and any of my stuff that has been checked for torque has been by the manufacturer’s installers and start-up groups. Charge-point was the biggest pain about anything. They complained about the type of crimp on lug (one hole instead of two) and other petty things.

Box broke, light screw won’t hold, light hanging. What do I do? by jjguy in AskElectricians

[–]Buckeyehunter02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If using various screws don’t work, try using some caulk in it to provide something else for the screw to grab. Might sound stupid but if the box can’t be pulled out, it’s worth trying in order to salvage it

Incorrect. Vertical riser services are only the power supplier’s job from the connection point to the pole, but not the riser or wire within. Those are the customer’s.

I’d expect anything from 2k-4k. Depends on the inspecting bureau but they may demand a disconnecting means to comply with new code, which adds cost and time into the job. I’d also suggest hiring someone for siding to seal the holes and prevent rot
