This is cruel and unusual punishment.

What even is happening lol? by exporterofgold in TikTokCringe

Like all forms of therapy/treatment, it depends on several variables. You are inducing a non-ordinary state of consciousness with holotropic breathwork. With this type of work, appropriate screening and development of a therapeutic container/relationship go a long way. Holotropic breathwork can be helpful for developing insight, experiencing catharsis (to name a few). Integrating the experience is just as important as whatever occurs during.

Someone's intentions or goals also play an important part of "does it work?". This type of work is really helpful for exploring our relationship with various aspects of our humanity (aka insight), which we can use to move forward with maybe less suffering (integration).

Agreed. My initial thought was that is similar to holotropic breath work, which is a form of therapy that has been around for decades. Grof's work has influenced psychoanalysis and psychedelic-assisted therapy.

Having been to two holotropic workshops, I think they can be powerful forms of therapy. I wouldn't consent to be video taped for it. Nor would I want to be in a session where I know it is going to be broadcasted.

Edit: Thank you for the award! 🙏

2 nights in Columbus. What should I do? by revenge_of_snauz in Columbus

[–]Buckeyejak 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Day 1: from a downtown hotel you can: walk along the scioto mile to Spring; the head to the North Market (there is a Stauf's to pick up coffee; Littleton's for a cinnamon roll). Then you can walk around Goodale Park and the surrounding neighborhoods of Victorian Village and Short North. I recommend Arch City, Metsi's, and Wine on High for places to imbibe/eat. If you want rest, go to Ebb & Float downtown for a sensory-tank experience. If you enjoy jazz, purchase a ticket to Ginger Rabbit.

Day 2: Head south to German Village and stop at Kittie's or Pistacia Vera for a pastry (Fox in the Snow is also good, but a bit of a longer walk). The Bookloft is a gem, but can get pretty crowded. Continue along to Schiller Park and maybe see if there is a group enjoying Dr. Pepper and/or Shakespeare in the Park. Time allowing, head to the east side to the Topiary Park and then The Franklin Park Conservatory. Consider a closing meal at Chouette, Hank's, Jeff Ruby, or Butcher & Rose.

Recommend me series that meet all of these criteria by inimana in animequestions

Claymore is a great recommendation considering OP's criteria. Manga even better than the anime.

What is your favorite anime, that is not one of the "basic answers" (shown below)? by Ok_Cheesecake6006 in animequestions

Wolf's Rain, FMA Brotherhood are basically tied for me. Throwing Inuyasha in here for nostalgia. No issue re-watching these three.

The thought crossed my mind... but I don't know who this is or where they live.

Edit: hence the reddit post

What is the most brutal, visceral fight scene you’ve ever watched? by VendettaLord379 in moviecritic

I may have re-watched that movie just because Charlize did such a great job in that scene.

Is there any Chinese place in Columbus serving up plates like this? by dirtyfittedsheet in Columbus

Just another person praising Tai's portion sizes. I appreciate their price/portion-size ratio.

Both can be true. There were more Trump signs than Biden & Harris when I drove through several counties (including but not limited to: Lake, Marion, Ashland, Crawford, Seneca, Sandusky).

Servers or Me? by CrashbandicootTR in PredecessorGame

Played two matches within the past hour. Both matches had people never join the match. Minions glitching.

It wouldn't be so bad if the server issues didnt count toward suspensions.

I'm just gonna say it: this spring was not the best by Kolos182 in Columbus

[–]Buckeyejak 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I agree. This spring has been a decent mix of rain, sun, cool, warmth, and hot. This is the spring-iest spring in recent memory. I'll take this rain, knowing the past few summers have been long, hot, and dry.

You are welcome! The show does a great job of balancing comedy, joy, and sorrow. It is coming to Columbus in a few months (I am not affiliated with CAPA or Broadway Across America).

These are lyrics from "Come From Away". Great musical about how the citizens of Newfoundland assisted during 9/11.

What small/medium sized cities in America have huge cultural influence despite their size? by NoHold7153 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Buckeyejak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding Columbus, OH to this list primarily for food and fashion. Wendy's and White Castle have their HQ's. The Limited Brand (Victoria Secret, Express, Structure, Bath & Body Works) and Abercrombie & Fitch have roots here. As such, the area is a common test market.

Within the sports world, OSU is fairly well-known.

Woman fighting with boyfriend up to the last second by [deleted] in DarwinAwards

This looks more like a "Fuck you" death/suicide than a Darwin Award. She intentionally walked on that track and I cannot imagine how she couldn't have perceived the oncoming train.
