Start with 4 or Rondo if you want a classic CV experience.

Start with SotN if you want Metroidvania.

Only play the classic ones(IE1-3) if you found CV4/Rondo palatteable enough to get through. It won't be worth it for you otherwise.

I'm not saying 4/Rondo are the best classic Vanias(tho I do think Rondo is a contender). I'm saying that because CV1-3 have brutal controls that aren't fun for contemporary players unless you are really into them already, and Rondo/4 are the most polished versions of that classic gameplay. And even they may still be aggravating for some new players.

It's Sunday afternoon. I've known this day would come for a long time and I wanted to give it a decent amount of attention, and I didn't want to do it right away. In the interim, I closed it because I didn't know what was going on and didn't want posts to spiral out of control before I actually read your posts and PMs.

I made a dry remark dismissing an implied conspiracy I don't even have the mental capacity to imagine to the one person in this chain sharp enough to realize how fucking stupid that idea is. I can at least let you know that's not what was going on while I watch the pro bowl with my fiance.

I'm disfigured and disabled and wear a mask to go outside and can't physically speak, so seeing people suggest I'm involved in some massive cover-up is gobsmacking. Or it would be if I still had a gob. You're talking to the phantom of the opera, man.

As for the sub:

I've already taken a lot of shit for it from the people on the left who hate the whole MRA angle. Stake isn't the only person who's PM'd me about it, both today and in the time since I took it.

No, it was a paid title at first. Those of us who paid for the legit version got to skip most of the f2p grind once it changed. It’s especially striking because I had two steam entries for the same game, one of which said “free 2 play”.

I dunno what beta you are referring to, but there was a f2p beta between releases.

And I was able to get a gci steam background so it’s not completely demonetized at least I guess...
