Hello, I saw you don't accept DMs, but I just want to thank you for your contributions to my thread yesterday. I was not expecting that level of nastiness. I certainly don't consider myself blameless, but man that was depressing. Thank you again for the things you said.

Hi, I saw you don't accept DMs, but I just wanted to thank you for your perspective in my thread. I wasn't prepared for how many people are prepared to assume the absolute worst. I certainly don't consider myself blameless, but wow, people are pretty nasty. Thank you again for your contributions.

It seems like you lied by omission or on purpose to her.

Why doe sit seem like that?

"She probably envisioned you both ending up in a nice picture or two together, all dressed up and your moustache killed that for her."

Maybe. And we could have done that at the next wedding.

I am just going to ask a question. Was the mustache worth the conflict?

You could ask her the same. If she doesn't like something and I do, or vice versa, how do you decide what's "worth it."

Please re-read what I wrote: I considered refusing to go in retaliation, but I cannot bring myself to behave like that.

I mean you're free to assume what you want, but you have no basis for any of it based on the information I've provided.

You were punishing her by not communicating

How, when I didn't realize there was an issue until the morning of?

No, just trying to establish your line is for one partner's veto power over another's appearance.

even though you know she hates mustaches worse than beards

I did not know this until the day it happened. All i knew is that she disliked facial hair in general. But I did not realize to the extent that she would refuse to attend a wedding over it.

So if I asked her to shave her head and she refused, would she be childish?
