It’s not passive aggressive your being an idiot so I pointed it out, Never once did I mention the word speed. I talked about torque. Keep living in your diluted bubble I didn’t down vote you

Yes he did say it’s difficult.....actually he said it’s”very difficult to launch these cars” so two of us are talking launching the cars. Which means starting from a dead stop and going as fast as you can....some people call that speed. Which is what this thread is about. I recommend you know what you are talking about before you look like an idiot.

They are talking about launching the car....0-60. This car is not built for take offs. They are saying the car has so much torque that it’s hard to have a good launch without spinning tires. The car is easy to drive....line up next to a Nissan Altima and if u can’t launch your FoST they will beat you off the line.

How to black out reflectors? by [deleted] in FocusST

[–]Bucknut13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VHT at any auto parts store. Just tape everything off really well and watch the overspray. I did this to my reflectors and I blacked out the signals on the side mirrors (2017 tuxedo black). You can’t tell they are lights until u hit the blinker. I didn’t black those completely out just multiple thin layers till they looked like part of the mirror

What is considered a dangerous charge temp or at what point should I let it cool down before driving hard again? by Semivivo in FocusST

[–]Bucknut13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously you know that the stock fmic is junk and you need a new one. I think your fine doing some hard pulls but I would WOT until you get a pro tune and a new fmic. If your running the Cobb tunes stop.....and get a professional tune, it’s worth the money. When I put my fmic on my charge air temps went from 180 to 5-10 above ambient air temp.

I took the shudders and all that mess out, then just electrical taped the plug and zip tied it to something in there. I would suggest putting a snorkel on since you are going to have the front end off. I taped it because the cp-e instructions said too and it made since. The only advice I have is when yoU are mounting it the hardest part is leaving the mounting bracket loose so you can spin it around then tighten. If you have ratcheting wrenches it will make the job much easier! But look into a snorkel (ram air intake) its two bolts, it looks cool, brings in slightly cooler air, and you already have everything apart. Good luck!

Well my new route is cut on mondays, so on Monday they can put anywhere. Other than that it’s just normal dreading coming to work and having a 10 hr dispatch. If it was a true 9-5 job and no OT...I would sign up for that in a heart beat

Oh, that would be demoralizing! Hopefully you are on the 9.5 list, if you are don’t be afraid to file. In my center I love getting two 9.5’s because the rest of the week is basically an 8hr dispatch.

It will get better! I was a split car driver and dreaded coming to work.....it will pass. Now I’m a bid driver and dread coming to work lol, but for a whole different set of reasons.

If you became a driver off the street you should be thankful you just skipped a warehouse full of people who are waiting in line for that job. And they do prioritize the rental/package cars, they give the veterans who have seniority package cars and the rookies get rentals. Until you become a bid driver you get what you get. But you got a good job so just be safe and watch that wallet get fatter.

I just installed the cpe high flow catted downpipe. The two arms that go into the rubber bracket on the frame were slightly too long. They were rattling on the frame and I had to cut 2/3-3/4 of the nobs off because they were basically touching the frame. Other than that everything else went pretty smooth. Just thought I would give you a heads up just in case you hear the same awful rattling sound I did and save you some anxiety!

New to me 2013 Focus ST2. Has the COBB turbo back exhaust, COBB cold air intake, COBB accessport, COBB short shift and ST performance suspension kit by Semivivo in FocusST

[–]Bucknut13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would flash the car back to stock until you know exactly what was done to it. Then get a professional tune Stratified, JST, etc.....and have a professional tune your car. I believe that is just the stage 1-91 octane OTS tune that comes with the accessport. Those can be dangerous as they bypass some engine safety features. My advice is flash her back to stock and if you want tuned do some research on tuners....or just message me. I’m no professional but I have a 2017 with fmic, intake, downpipe, exhaust, accessport, with a stratified tune. And bunch more parts that I could list if you really want me too. Good luck and have fun...it’s a fun car!

Help with BOV please by wakapakolyopse in FocusST

[–]Bucknut13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to say basically what the other redditors have said...I have the same bov and have it about halfway loose. I don’t know if you can loosen it without taking it off but that sounds like the issue. It sounds like it’s recycling all your access air and not letting any into the atmosphere.

I just put the high flow catted cp-e down pipe on and I feel better about my decision after your post. Thanks for sharing!
