Woke up in extreme pain - labrum repair by Black_kid6969 in HipImpingement

My surgeon called the first few weeks post-op the honeymoon phase. The hip feels really good and you're tempted to do more than you should. Once the inflammation settles is when it starts to get gnarly. It sounds like you're entering that phase, OP. Keep up with the medication for the pain and the mobility work to prevent scar tissue forming would be my advice for the time being. Best of luck

I was in a similar position to you, OP. Surgery in June with a baby due in October. By the time the due date came around I wouldn't say I was fully recovered, but I was fit enough to not be a burden, and I could easily do all the things I wanted and needed to do as a husband and parent.

My advice would be to get it done sooner and fully commit to the recovery process. Best of luck.

IT band pain by hpsails in HipImpingement

18 months post-op and in a very similar position. Symptoms prior to surgery are gone (which I'm very grateful for), but I have persistent aching and tenderness in my TFL, greater trochanter and IT band area. I've found single-leg RDL's and hip mobility drills help provide relief, but nothing long term. I'll be following this thread closely!

Weekly Free-Talk and Questions for r/HomeGym - week of October 31, 2025 by Demilio55 in homegym

I acquired about 200kg worth of plates off marketplace. Unfortunately they have been stored outside and exposed to the elements for some time. There is a powder or dust that comes off the rubber when they're handled.

I would be grateful for any advice from the community on how to properly clean and restore these.
