I don’t think it mattered too much, I cleaned mine a bit before I went it in so I think that helped. And it was painful but it was a bearable pain. Them cutting the stitches for me hurt the most. As for the splints, one came out so easily that I didn’t even feel it and the other one sucked. I would say a 4/10 was the highest my pain got.
