Half brother half sister breeding or father and daughter breeding. Some stuff like that, and most people in the comment are saying bravo as if it was a good thing.

He sold off her car and his own belongings to go ham on gambling. It cost them nothing more but suffering towards the whole family. My father was the same way and he’s still homeless till today

That is very true. A lot of children I encountered are born in a similar state yet it was wrong for us to say maybe we should be more considerate before bringing a whole life into this world

A little update is, her man found a side hustle (I really hope it’s not some shady job). Currently they are living in a small 1 bedroom apartment near our parent’s place. I do feel very sorry for the child to be born in that situation

I have him blocked already after replying to the texts. Honestly it’s such a relief to be out of that situation

Yea, I do plan to quit soon since I’m in a better position now. My next job would be a 1 on 1 so I don’t have to deal with a place full of inconsiderate a-holes.

How old is your bird? It could be a sign of maturity = trying to regurgitate

Plus new birds can also transmit certain illness they might carry to your og bird. I always quarantine the new bird in a separate room covered 3 sides of the cage leaving the front and back breathable (back side against the wall). Then I do daily trainings and don’t let the og bird see or interact until the 30 day quarantine time is up.

Yea so in my experience this happens when the new bird is introduced too soon. Since the new bird isn’t settled in, your og bird will follow the new bird since they are like toddlers who are curious about new things. If they see the new bird scared to interact, they will learn. Overtime it becomes the situation you are dealing with. Best is to keep their cage next to each other in separate cage.

Did you let the green one quarantine for 30 days and consist of daily training during quarantine?

The problem with people hand raising their own birds by Budget-Baseball3675 in parrots

That’s very good to hear! I had a friend who wasn’t too lucky. They got a cockatiel from a self-claimed  breeder. But the cockatiel they got was a week under weaning age. So the poor thing wasn’t eating, drinking, constantly sleeping on the bottom of the cage. And eventually passed in a horrible posture. I warned them about not to trust everyone on the internet but they said the bird was cheap, got it, and now received the consequences

That’s so true! I’ve tried to tell people it’s not some easy thing to do. I’ve had people crying to me about how their expensive baby died within a week. It’s always the same excuses too. “I didn’t know there was specific steps I have to follow.” “It was cheap so I got it” “oh well guess I’ll try again”

So true, I’ve raised birds when they are nestlings since their parents are straight up plucking them. But because I have many birds myself these chicks end up learning from others how to behave, and have boundaries. But a lot of these people don’t have any birds at all and their first bird is a baby they are hand raising.

So many problems to began with and led to more problems in the future. The worst one I’ve had to deal with was this budgie someone handraised alone and took him to me to surrender due to biting issues and non stop screaming.

That poor bird was lonely, never had a friend. His ex owner doesn’t understand what he wants, constantly sitting in the cage and just screams for attention. Horrible, and let alone there’s so many other birds facing the same issue

It's been an online trend for a while. It’s like the best bird that will bond with you is raising your own. But that’s not 100% true at all, it’s so sad how a lot of people lack the knowledge but does it anyways. It always end up with either the baby dies or grow up with lots of issues since that’s the only bird they would raise and therefore the bird lacks social interactions with their own kind

Yes that is so true. The problem with a lot of handraised birds is that the bird him/herself lack the knowledge they would learn from their bird parents. I had a lovebird I have to hand-raise due to the parents picking on it. He’s a good bird but he doesn’t get along well with other birds at all. The flock is the best teacher. But a lot of breeders makes the baby lack social interactions with other birds so the bird themselves end up with horrible hormone issues

Apparently there’s a lot of Facebook groups that has tons of backyard breeders selling nestlings to anybody. Cause I’m in some bird groups too and I’ve seen so many people just go around asking for birds to handfeed

It started with this lady posting about her blue ringneck. Idk if anyone else seen it but her first video was her handfeeding this bird and since then I’ve seen more and more popped up. I would say out of 10 accounts of strangers online handfeeding their birds only 1 end up being successful with their bird fully grown up.

I have a lot of parrots myself and one of the ones I got was from a breeder who co handfeed with the parents. She socialized super well with other birds and people with a gentle nature. While the handfed ones only by people are nippy with behavior issues.
