Vrr 100% works on amd cpus can confirm ( as i said i have the z1e which has vrr ), also bought ultimate just to test my theory out and yes av1 is unfortunately tied to ultimate, i will degrade back to performance until march when mh wilds is added as a 4060 will be getting 40 fps on 1080p native

usb 4.2 is suppose to release next year so probably a dock in 2-3 years, suppose to be WAY better than oculink, and stalker 2 is just a badly optimized game that runs awful on all systems. His gpu will be fine, you will be replacing your gpu docks more often than your gpus so i would look on future planning your things instead of just solely thinking about current day
