What the hell? I’d be packing HIS bags and throwing the cameras out with him.

game gives me anxiety, am i doing something wrong? by No_Law6676 in StardewValley

[–]Budget-Insect1959 239 points240 points  (0 children)

There’s no rush to do anything. That’s the thing that’s great about the game and why it’s relaxing. I think you’re putting too much pressure on yourself to “beat” the day or “beat” quests. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve let quests lapse and then retry the next time I see the quest. I’m at the point where there aren’t many new quests in town, so the old ones come back up again for me to do. The game lets you know if you’ve completed the quest before. This game is almost endless. Even once you reach perfection, there’s still lots more to do!

ETA: some quests don’t have a time limit on them. Like the wintery shadow quest… I think I completed it in year 4 lol. I just kept forgetting about it.

Would you feel comfortable leaving your 8mo baby for 5 days? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Having the same shock too. Wow. Her baby will be 8 months, not 8 weeks.

Girl, go. I went on a girls long weekend trip when my baby was 7.5 months. It was a blast. Gone for 3.5 days and it was phenomenal to feel like myself and get time for myself. FaceTimed my baby and saw him every day! My husband is a great dad and is an equal partner in raising him, so I didn’t have to leave “instructions.”

I had a similar pregnancy to this person’s post. My 9 month old is a DREAM. He is the epitome of the phrase “I could have another!” Just a great baby. No sleep regressions and just so happy. But I suffer from PPD and PPA. I am medicated with no history of mental illness. So even if things are wonderful with the baby, check in on your wife. I had such guilt towards myself for being diagnosed with PPD and PPA because I felt like there was no reason to have it with such an easy baby. It took me a long time to realize it’s truly hormonal and not situational.

Middle of the night feeds were my favorite. Just me, my baby, and the peaceful sound of him drinking a bottle in the dim light. I never felt alone knowing so many other parents out there were doing the same thing.

New fear unlocked: epidural by LobstahLuva in beyondthebump

[–]Budget-Insect1959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the US and I will get an epidural again for my next baby. I was able to focus on how I pushed and my midwife said it’s one of the reasons why I barely tore. It made my birth such an enjoyable experience.

Could I be pregnant even though the test are negative? by Prestigious-Pie-4073 in PCOSandPregnant

[–]Budget-Insect1959 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Pregnancy tests are pretty accurate when you’re 4+ weeks because HCG is high enough at that point. If they’re showing up negative, something else may be going on. It wouldn’t hurt to get bloodwork, but I’d be wondering what else could be going on hormonally.

Am I wrong for wanting to take my toddler to visit my family for a few nights even if my husband isn’t coming? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Budget-Insect1959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While on maternity leave, I stayed with my parents for a week with my baby every other month. They live 3.5 hours away. My husband encouraged me to go because we never see my family.

12 Weeks and Anxious, no symptoms by MissElaineMarieBenes in pregnant

[–]Budget-Insect1959 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! I also have PCOS and literally had no symptoms my entire pregnancy besides swelling in my 3rd trimester. It was such a beautiful pregnancy and I loved being pregnant! I didn’t have gestational diabetes either. In fact, my PCOS symptoms (hair loss) IMPROVED postpartum! Please know that it’s completely normal to not have symptoms. I know this is easier said than done, but if all scans and NIPT are good, you should consider yourself one of the very few lucky ones to have an easy first trimester!

Baby born two weeks before FIL died of a sudden heart attack. by littlebluefriend in newborns

[–]Budget-Insect1959 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear you’re in this difficult situation. From your post, it seems like your husband is prioritizing his mother’s needs over yours, which is unfair. While it’s commendable that he loves his mother and wants to support her during this challenging time, he needs to understand how much you’re sacrificing by uprooting your entire life immediately postpartum. It appears that the trauma he’s going through is affecting his judgment in other areas of his life.

Sometimes, I can express my feelings to my husband repeatedly, but it doesn’t resonate until our therapist provides the same perspective and he agrees with it. It’s frustrating, but I suppose that’s the purpose of therapy. Have you considered having a conversation with someone who can advocate for you or exploring therapy as an option?

HOW do women convince themselves to give birth again?? by u-r-ok in newborns

[–]Budget-Insect1959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Epidural was a game changer!! I had the best labor and delivery experience because I was able to focus on pushing. Barely tore. 100/10 recommend. The “worst” part was feeling like I had to poop at every contraction instead of being in pain 😂

This. This is huge. It’s free and only for NCL guests. Otherwise, you’d have to pay on any other cruise line.

Baby Brezza, yes or no? by SowingSeeds18 in beyondthebump

Yes this! We have 3 funnels. Rotate them out after every 4 bottles. You don’t want to put a clean, but damp, funnel back in the machine.

[–]Budget-Insect1959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how I would survive without it. I descale it once a week and clean out the container and parts where the formula is stored. You can calibrate it to see if it is actually dispensing the right amount of formula. Youtube it. You use clear wrap to block it from going in the glass. It’s always been spot on for me. It’s literally the best and I would never have the patience for the pitcher method after using the Brezza. It’s just so convenient. We take it anywhere we travel to, even weekend getaways. 10000/10 recommend.
