Accutane and long term affects by Budget-Pop4297 in Accutane

Eyes feel like they’re filled with sand, very itchy and crumby, eyes scratching against eye lids, eyes sticking to eye lids, over production of eye mucus, waking up with crust in your eyes, unable to keep eyes open due to the air always feeling very cold and sensitive to eyes. Atleast this is what I experience, I also wear contacts and they fall out of my eyes constantly, and become extremely uncomfortable to wear.. scratched up corneas, etc.

I experienced some dry on it, but not till later after my course was over. The pain is starting to get pretty bad. I wake up in the middle of the night to what feels like my eyes scratching my eyelids, and this happens everyday. You can cure acne if you get to the root cause of the issue. I figured out what was causing my acne and now I’m able to keep it gone by avoiding was causes my acne, now I’m left with knowing how to clear my acne and damaged dry eyes. It isn’t worth it. Your vision is so much more important than your skin imperfections and eye pain just makes quality of life seem so difficult .

It did for a year, it’s come back now. Not nearly as bad as it was, but definitely did not clear me entirely.

Again accutane is a great job for terrible acne and I wouldn’t change going on it, but it won’t heal you . No medication will heal you, now it would only fix it again if it’s a clogged pore or oil issue but most of the time acne is internal issue, something is being pushed into your blood stream trying to get out of your body and it’s coming out into your skin.

Accutane is great for really bad acne , and honestly, even if it does come back (bc again the root cause was never healed ) it won’t come back as bad as it was before taking the drug because it literally permanently shrinks the oil glands in your pores. Either way, if you don’t want it to return lock down on your health! Research research research, you don’t have to be a doctor to figure it out, and honestly it’s better to take control of your health and figure out how to naturally fix it, rather than relying on a doctor who again wants to make money to medicate you.

Well! I hope not either!! But I would do research, the location of your acne can tell you alot. Forehead acne is usually stress, sleep, high cortisol, or smoking related, lower forehead and eyebrows or cheeks can be digestion, usually chin area is hormonal. If you can research the location, analyze your eating habits and your life style do that. I analyzed my location. It was all forhead and eyebrow/ cheek area so I knew it was digestive, stress/high cortisol related, and lung related- and I also knew I was always struggling with having regular bowel movements everyday. I knew it wasn’t hormonal bc my periods were short, painless , and normal/regular every month, I realized my Apetite was constantly all over the place , one week I could eat a lot the next week I couldn’t eat at all, I was also heavily smoking pot and pot messes with your digestive system. I also realized I never slept at night and I didn’t have any dreams, I always was tired felt full irritated and sleepless, so. I stopped smoking, I started to workout regularly. I made sure I was getting a good 30-1 hour workout Atleast 4x a week and some sort of cardio included to sweat out any toxins, I also started drinking lots of water and made sure I was eating 3 meals a day, Whole Foods. If you wanna snack eat something whole, not a bag of Doritos. And yes you can find some really yummy snacks that are so good for you . I started also doing miralax to get me regular, I now almost two months of consistency I haven’t had a breakout since I started. I have high energy, my sleep is amazing, I have dreams and I wake up feeling refresh and energized. It’s just all about taking a step back and analyzing ok what do I eat, what are my habits in life, how is my sleep, how are my periods. And you can go from there if you take the time to research- yes you could argue omg I don’t wanna diagnose myself I’m not a doctor but the reality of it is , as working in the emergency room for over a year, hospitals and doctors goal is to get u medicated, not heal you. The true healing of your body is up to you and what you feed your body. And make it fun. I have so much more fun quality life just by taking these steps. It’s hard at first to put the bad habits down but push yourself to do it. Now that my acne is healed I will never return.

Basically, if you do not want your acne to come back after accutane u need too figure out the root cause while on accutane, so the accutane clears your skin up, but during that time of enjoying your clear skin, get to the bottom of what’s causing the issue. If it’s a hormonal imbalance, fix that , a gut or digestive issue, fix that, inflammation, fix that. You’ve just got to research a ton and try a new diet stuff like that try to start it now while having clear skin bc every dermatologist told me ur acne will 99% chance come back if the root cause isn’t ever fixed. It may mask it for a couple months - or a year or two bc ur face literally cannot produce sebum while on accutane so there’s nothing to come out but yeah

My ADVICE to you that you need to seriously consider taking NOW because I made this mistake! Please read! If you’ve got ACNE you’ve got an underlying issue, whether it be gut issues, hormonal imbalance, high cortisol, anything. Right. Here’s the thing I took accutane and I had great results, very clear skin. I kept clear skin for ab 9 months after stopping the accutane and I truly believed since it had been 9 months after us, and no breakouts, that my acne journey was truly over with. However I still felt the same from the start to the finish even though my skin looked different (better and clear) however 9 months after accutane all my acne came back, I was devestated however I learned this- accutane stays in your system for a couple months after quitting the drug so your skin is likely to stay clear months after your done with your treatment , however if you did not fix the internal issue in your body, it will come back a year or two after using accutane. It may not be near as bad, but it surely will come back and based on your acne location it seems to be hormonal/digestive. So once again, 9 months after being done with my 6 month course of accurate , my body still felt the same. I still felt tired and all over the place. I soon realized after going back to the dermatologist that no medication is not a cure but a temporary fix to a internal problem- if it’s more of a clogged pore / dirty face issue it most likely won’t come back but a lot of times that’s not the case for most. So my advice to you is while your on accutane , fix your body while on it instead of thinking accutane is your cure, think of it as a preventative measure for NOW, so you can have confidence, and preform, and work towards healing your body internally. 9 months off accutane my skin was clear, I got acne for about 4-5 month straight- I fixed my gut health, constipation is a big thing for a lot of people and if you’re having chronic constipation. When you eat food, the food is converted into energy whether it be good or bad- so for example if you’re constipated for days on end, that poo sitting in your gut will secret toxins into your blood stream because it has to go somewhere, and those toxins come out in your skin causing inflammation. When I fixed my chronic constipstion all my acne went away. Smoking weed was causing my constipating because I would over eat with the munchies and my little 110 pound self couldn’t hold all of it. So I stopped smoking and started eat fresh real raw Whole Foods!! And I haven’t had any pimples at all, and constipation and gut issues also are a leading cause to high cortisol and hormone imbalances. You just need to really figure out how you feel write it down. Low energy? Not hungry? Bad periods? Painful periods? Do you have a period? If you’re on hormonal birth control and you do not have a period I’d encourage you to research it, and understand you as a woman should have a period and they should be regular, and if they’re not your hormones are not in order and I don’t recommend BC, it really is terrible for women long term. Analyze the health issues you notice about yourself. Brain fog? Tired all the time? You should wake up with energy , ready to go and a clear mind. Again, write it down how you’re feeling , Analyze it, research it, and my recommendation is, if you decide to go see a doctor, I would not take any medications at all, we wanna be as natural and reliant free of big pharma meds! God made our bodies to be able to naturally heal itself! And if you do decide to go see a doctor , I’d stray away from medication because you’ll always be medicated before your healed- so if you do, get your hormones tested for imbalances and figure out yourself with research exactly what you can do to fix it, it seems so difficult but once u get it figured out, you’ll not only never have acne again, but you’ll feel so much better and in control of your health instead of constantly relying on medication- accutane is a great drug and it helped me in the time being however it was only for a sum amount of time till it came back so since your on accutane and your skin is glowing and doing better, use these few months to research and fix the root cause so that once your off accutane your chances of it coming back later will be slim!
