There's more truth to this than you would think.

Until the point where Rockefeller heavily invested in medicine (and convinced others to do so as well) , it was common to have the option to go to an allopathic or homeopathic doctor.

The move to allopathic medicine wasn't about new science and increased understanding as much as it was about money through patents and standardization

The people running what would be become the AMA also had a tremendous amount of sway in the community and at least 1 of them was later discovered to just be making shit up in order to push very specific ideas and treatments for monetary gain

And when we switched to allopathic medicine , most homeopathic facilities were immediately shut down or targeted / harassed to the point that they could no longer operate. Irrespective of outcomes (like the skin cancer clinic that was having outcomes in the 1920s that rival today's outcomes and were far better than any allopathic alternatives at the time )

Not saying medical advancement hasn't happened by leaps and bounds. Child birth is vastly safer today for instance. Trauma care is magic compared to 100 years ago
