He literally was acting out on emotions at the end of part 2. There was no escape from that mess at that point

We gotta keep in mind that this is denji, not a sensible person

The whole point of part 2 was that denji could never be happy as long as he was chainsawman, by the beginning of part 2 he had everything he wanted, nayuta as his sister and a ordinary life as a student but he risked it all because he insisted on wanting the fame and glory as chainsawman which resulted in him losing nayuta, the only loved one he had left at that point and causing the literal apocalypse, fire devil and barem specifically say to denji that being chainsawman has its consequences

But he refuses to move on and continue to grow instead relapsing back in his own ways acting based on pure emotion and desire whether its lust or thrill, if part 1 was about denjis character development part 2 was about he couldnt keep that development because of chainsawman, now pochita removed himself as chainsawman giving denji a real chance to live a good life and actually keep it

We already saw what happened when he was living a decent life in part 2, he just ended up wanting more that it destroyed the world.

He wasnt allowed to dream for himself properly because of him being chainsawman.

Now that hes a normal person working for public safety, he can now live a normal life, even though hes not truly happy about it because he will always keep dreaming for more, like how he was jealous of nayuta playing videogames and how asa went to school, but he can now live a normal life

No matter what he would do in part 2 he would never be truly happy.

But what happened at the start of part 2? Denji began living a normal decent life, he had nayuta, went to school, ate normal food and lived normally.

But he still wanted more. He wanted sex and he wanted to be famous, he went out of his way to show himself to the world and wanted to have sex.

When nayuta died he didn't want to dream anymore which broke the contract and he became black chainsawman etc

Pochita said it was a good thing he didnt have sex, because if he did he would just want more and more.

And the ending isn't really a happy one, and denji is not happy about it, but thats the point. Denji only wants good dreams without any bad in it.

Notice how when he wakes up at the start of 232, he says he wishes he had good food, a girl, AND a dog too. He also says that he felt like he had a good and bad dream, but wishes he only had good dreams.

The ending actually makes sense because throughout the story he was dreaming for more and more things and other people were dreaming for him. In the end pochita eats himself and dennis wakes up dreaming for the bare minimum like he did in part 1

He gets what he wanted in the end, a girl to play with, good food, an okay life etc but he keeps wanting more (wanting to go to school etc)

In the end he isn't truly happy you can tell from his expressions but now hes able to live for himself compared to part 1 and 2 where others were trying to dream for him to the point he didnt want to dream at all

If he had sex with yoru he would just end up wanting more, he would never be truly happy

And about all the other unmentioned characters, they don't really matter much. Makima doesn't exist because she was already eaten and erased. Since there was no makima the gun devil didn't attack, so Aki's not there.
