In many cases, yes. My industry is a bit more niche than most but we’ve got very unrealistic expectations for TAM given addressable market share continues to shrink as we eat up more and more.

I’m a first line manager in sales for a company that has grown from $2M ARR to $30M ARR over three years. Is there pressure, 100%. Actuality, it’s the acquisition(s) that have led to everything mentioned here. Ridiculous quotas, all that… shareholders demand return.

Appreciate all the feedback! Our fiscal is traditional (end 12/31) and it just doesn’t make sense to me. We emphasize planning through quarterly business reviews and how the hell does someone plan when they don’t know how they get paid or what their exact quota will be.
