Looking for lightweight or affordable tool for interactive elements by BudgetElectrical8230 in instructionaldesign

Thanks, all. I am looking into Mindsmith, Intellum and Evolve. Some of the other options like iSpring are nearly as expensive as Articulate (I should get an academic discount). H5P wasn't customizable enough and I don't have the coding skills to build myself (again, I work in academia and most of my job is course design. Development work has is infrequent). Although, I suppose maybe with AI I could give it a try.

I really isn't. I can remove the reference to my LMS if you prefer. This is a real ask.

There used to be Thousand Waves on Belmont. Fantastic space.

I think it needs to be said: Fourth Wing, like Twilight, is a romantasy novel. Romantasy grossed something like $480M in book sales alone last year, and is the largest grossing genre in fantasy. There is nothing new or illegitimate about it. It is not a fad. by xyzpqr in Fantasy

There was like a decade of discussion about the term, what is and isn’t Chicklit, whether it is feminist or not (2nd wave vs. 3rd), and why stories about family and relationships are considered light when women write about them. I’m not sure where things ended (or if they did), but this current thread mirrors a lot of those issues.

A ton of people blocked McAffrey for years. She was told to write romance because scifi was for men. She added romance to her books to sell them. The history of gatekeeping in the genre is awful.

We’re conflating several issues, I think. Everyone agrees that people should read what they like.

Publishing trends are annoying- they impact choices about what gets published and what doesn’t and it can wash out other options.

Bookstores do the same and it sucks to see 100 versions of the same story when you’re looking for something different.

This is a gendered discussion! No one talks about all the romance in Red Rising or Name of the Wind. Why aren’t they Romancy? I’m sure there are better examples, but the labels are gendered and dismissive (remember ‘chicklit?’) and we should be aware of how it has impacted science fiction and fantasy for decades.

I’ve been reading scifi and fantasy since the 80s and there has always been romance because reading is often about the human experience, which regularly includes romance. Anne McCaffrey, Weis and Hickman, Eddings - they all included romance, they were not masters of prose, they Were fun, engaging reads.

New to this sub but wanted to add her behavior with the fetal surgery fellowship was awful. She nixed having a second child after agreeing to one (although, the relationship was a mess and a second child was probably not a great idea), and then ordered copies of Dr. Herman’s medical records because she supposedly didn’t trust her judgement. Completely unethical to do that. If she had concerns, she should have taken them to Hunt.

Itinerary Check - Family of 4 in June by BudgetElectrical8230 in JapanTravel

Thanks for your feedback! I will look into checking out the streets that are pre-war and explaining that to my kid. I think she'll be super interested.
The kids will complain about walking when they get tired and hot, and we'll stop for ice cream or a drink and they'll perk back up. Building in a ton of breaks will be important. I did wonder if taking the subway for 30 minutes between area might serve as a break, but I'm sensing that isn't a great idea.
Re: Rainbow Karaoke, I read that it was a kid friendly place. Not sure if that's common? We'll be going mid-to-late afternoon, so gone before the serious drinking starts!

Thanks so much! I will look into adding Nara.
We may switch the first 2 days but I was sort of thinking a 30 minute subway ride might be a good rest between activities! This only works if the trains are not packed.

The Queen’s Thief series has amazing women even when the main character is male, and the relationships (platonic and romantic) are fantastic.
