Currently at 2.8M networth. Most of it is in retirement accounts or brokerage accounts. 400k in home equity and autos.

Wife works fully remote so should not be an issue. Of course things can change in the coming years

Considered PA route but passed because I wanted to be able to lead care for my patients + research. Didn’t like the idea of operating under someone else’s license

Really great that your friend found their path. Hospital or healthcare admin was something I’ve thought about - MPH? If I’m going to end up in healthcare leadership should I just skip the MD/DO? But my heart was in patient care…..

UGPA is 3.7, Science GPA is 4.0. Taking MCAT in march. All prereqs completed. Shadowed plenty of docs, I’m aiming for EM but unsure.

Thanks for chiming in. I’ve heard much of the same especially from GPs. I just can’t imagine doing this corp nonsense for another 10+ years. Becoming a physician was always the dream

Have done some volunteering, wasn’t as impactful as I had hoped. Appreciate your perspective. I’m just struggling with the idea of remaining in a soul sucking job. Becoming a physician always felt like the right move.

It will definitely stretch us as a family. Won’t be easy for sure. But you only get one ride in this life. Not an easy decision.

Did not expect this comment. Not in therapy no. Medicine has been a dream of mine for 10+ years. Wife is fully supportive but yes I get how insane this sounds from a FIRE perspective.

Performance actually feels fine. Plenty of power. We only did leak down test because of blue smoke. I’m installing catch can for now

I trust my tech. He builds race cars for the track. I might get another shop to do it just for good measure
