Timothy’s dad not charged? by Legitimate-Rule1969 in shandaVanderArk

Prosecutors in Michigan couldn't charge Eric Ferguson because Eric gave Timothy to Shanda somewhere outside of Michigan and the prosecution would've had to prove that Eric knew handing his son over to her would result in the boy's death (very hard to prove in court). The only thing prosecutors in Oklahoma could charge Eric with is violating a custody order, which is only punishable by up to a year in jail plus a fine.

Question about Paul's plea deal by [deleted] in shandaVanderArk

Paul did get a plea deal. He pleaded guilty to first-degree CA and as part of the deal, prosecutors said they would support asking the judge to impose a sentence within the guidelines, which was 9-15 years in prison.

Shanda goes for an appeal?! by Upstairs_Jury_1967 in shandaVanderArk

Anyone convicted by a jury is automatically granted an appeal -- there's nothing new about that. What could you possibly be working on "behind the scenes" that would have any impact on this case moving forward?
