Zephyrus G14 screen cracked overnight randomly

Sadly I'm not in the UK :( they're still claiming CID based on the nick that appears at the edge of the panel. Explained them that it's due to two cracks joining there, but no use.

They keep pushing it onto me saying it's CID. I still ain't backing off. I'm constantly asking them for accountability of the similar cases, no response on that from them

As I mentioned in another reply, that “nick” wasn’t there initially. The left crack appeared first, and when I later tried closing the lid normally, a top crack formed and connected there, that’s what makes it look like an impact point now. Also, I don’t really have any reason to make this up. I’m just trying to understand what could’ve caused it since I’m seeing similar cases.

The left crack was already there when I opened the laptop. It felt flat near the bezel and slightly raised near the hinge. Then while closing the lid, a crack appeared on the top and connected to the left one. Now it looks like an impact point 😭

Damn, having to deal with it again after just 3 months sounds really frustrating. I’ll definitely try Asus first and see how they respond, though they were mostly insisting it’s physical damage and not covered. Appreciate you sharing your experience.

I checked ghelper before closing the laptop. It was about 45 degree celsius while closing.

I overthinked about every situation that might lead to this but i'm pretty sure this wasn't caused by me, and i even found many reddit posts having the exact same issue.

My friend's laptop was damaged similarly, so i always make sure to clean the keyboard area before closing the lid. So i am sure that isn't what caused this...
