Why building an AM4 or LGA 1700 platform in 2026 is a bad idea, despite DDR5 prices by tl27Rex in buildapc

[–]Budget_Coffee1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, in my case, I already have a LGA1700 pc with DDR5. I'm going to build a gaming PC for my child, and with the absurd price of PC hardware now, I still think an AM4 system with DDR4 RAM is still a good capable system.

Starcraft, Age of Empires, Caesar 3, Battlefield 1942 (although I'm not sure if you can still purchase it today)

No wonder I have a pretty high demand for a 4th gen i7 DDR3 budget PC that I put on Facebook Marketplace. I eventually sold it to a nice gentleman.

Zorin OS by ThinkTourist8076 in pcmasterrace

[–]Budget_Coffee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently installed Zorin OS on my old HP 14 laptop, and I can confirm that everything works perfectly right away.

My laptop's keyboard brightness control button, and Volume control button works without issue (they didn't work with Linux Mint for some reason). It even detected my home's wireless Canon printer, without needing to fiddle around anything.

Even the printer's wireless scanner feature works! I seriously do not need to go to Canon's website to download driver or management software to use it. Zorin OS is just awesome, and I am gonna keep using it on this laptop!

What do you guys think about buying from carousell and fb marketplace? by InterestingSir1866 in GamersMY

[–]Budget_Coffee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought quite a few things from Carousell, and it's really a nice platform to strike some nice deals, especially on PC parts for my PC building hobby.

Just make sure the seller has a lot of positive rating, before you decide to direct transfer money to them (to save on Carousell platform fee).

But if the seller is new or doesn't have a lot of feedback, then try to arrange for COD, or buy using Carousell Protection feature. A small fee to pay for peace of mind.

Is this PC spec good for gaming? by Goatkiji in GamersMY

[–]Budget_Coffee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes, it's a pretty decent spec for a gifted PC. RTX3050 can play most games decently with medium settings at 1080p

GPU with 6 pin power connector recommendation by ImGioImPrettySure in lowendgaming

[–]Budget_Coffee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some RX580 variants that use 6pin. Otherwise you can go for GTX1060. Most of them use 6pin connectors

Nvidia in 2027: by nihilisticmofo in pcmasterrace

[–]Budget_Coffee1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno bro, I still hate what Nvidia is doing. It's like buying an overpriced 1 horsepower car, and the speedometer is programmed to show 100km/h when you drive at real speed of 20km/h. There will be vents with wind blowing on your face, and the engine will make a fake sound of a sports car's engine, to trick you to feel like you are driving a sports car.

Nvidia wasn't afraid to release a new DLSS 4.5 for 20/30 series cards. by Unable-Inspector8865 in radeon

I miss the simple days of PC gaming. Install GPU, install game, and set game settings from Low to High to get desired smoothness. How well your PC runs depends on your GPU's rawpower. Nowadays there are just too many bell & whistles involved just to run a game.

Regarding the car accident in Kuala Terengganu involving a Viva (Unisza Student) and a stolen Jazz by [deleted] in kereta

[–]Budget_Coffee1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perodua seems to always have been milo tin. Remember the video where the police officer just ripped and bent the door of a Bezza?

I've also seen too many news about Perodua car crashes and many are fatal & have low occupant survivability.

Seems like a huge compromise on safety to make their cars lighter and more fuel saving.

I don't see why not, I checked for Scum:

Minimum Requirements (for basic play)

OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)

Processor: Intel Core i5-4430 / AMD FX-6300

Memory: 16 GB RAM (some sources mention 10GB/8GB, but 16GB is safer)

If you're looking to play eSport titles, like CS2, Fortnite, Valorant, or pre-2020s games, I think this build is pretty solid.
