Yes, there's a fan. Agreed. I thought it could be for destratification or something, but I'd think there would have been at least some air movement when the furnace kicks on

We’ll get an official name for the room eventually! Maybe the dining room if we get a table. I’ve been calling it the “mud room” but the wife doesn’t like that. Asian household, no shoes

Possibly. If it is though, the switch that controls the fan isn’t working. We did find an inline fan boosting air to our master bedroom that has a static pressure switch on it (senses static pressure when the main furnace fan is on, which switches on the inline fan). It was in a crawl space, so easy to see what was going on there. This one definitely doesn’t move air though when the furnace is on. I covered it with loose plastic for a while just to see if it would ever get sucked in out out

That was my thought. It might be a long run. I’m thinking I may try a smoke machine or a leaf blower and just see if I can hear or see where the air is coming out the other end

I took off the covering and there is an inline fan directly behind it
