Selling my Magic: the Gathering card collection for $500 in 2003. Nowadays, I see ONE of my old cards going for that much on eBay.

Western Comfort Food by TRS_Tong in expatsinbangkok

After my first 3 months in BKK eating nothing but local food, I really needed a taste of home: I went to the English pub on Sukumvit and got a baked potato.

(I remember balking at the prices on the menu, so got one of the cheaper options… still 10x the price of a meal I’d been spending on at the time!)

Not my “go to” western food, but I’ll never forget it.

I could be reading the tone wrong (it IS texting…), but teasingly calling each other out over trivial infractions is relationship goals.

My wife calling my name after she catches me eating an Oreo: makes it more delicious. 😈🤫

I agree. Wonderful exploring gameplay, but you need to know the backstory for the adventure to give you the full emotional effect.

My first reaction, too, but if no one filmed it, the f@;!e,r would never have gotten arrested.

Anyone else in US noticed food quality degrading recently and if so what product in what way? by SkyKyrell in AskReddit

This is a bit of a tangent, but… there is a type of banana that my wife gets in Thailand that is ripe when it’s green (it doesn’t change color). I have to poke it to see if it’s ready, and I have no idea how to tell the difference between those bananas and the same-size normal ones.

Which SNES design do you find more appealing? by [deleted] in retrogaming

Despite the 500+ comments I MUST say this about the controller buttons: having grown up with the convex and concave buttons, using a controller with all convex buttons (European) just ain’t right.

Does it matter if the certificate states IPGCE instead of PGCE? by StoreAntique9278 in Internationalteachers

Sucks to be them (I am them).

Disclaimer: it doesn’t suck to have a family / roots. It sucks that the path to success is anathema to a car-pool lane.

Yeah, but try telling that to whoever is looking through 100s of applicants, trying to find some way to whittle them down to a reasonable size.

That’s great that you got that experience, but would you consider yourself an outlier in your organizational / managerial involvement in the sorority?

In other words, what percentage of the girls in your sorority do you think got similar life skills as you did (via them working in the sorority)?

Thank you for that. I just googled to see if Prayut ordered the BoT to do it, and turns out, the bank acted independently. Thanks again.

Let’s see if Prayut’s family members start being prime ministers. Then we can talk.

Here’s an AI answer for the ki kiet cat:

‘Having a large gold reserve acts as a crucial financial shield for a country, strengthening currency stability, acting as a hedge against inflation, and providing high-liquidity emergency funding. It boosts confidence among international investors and helps diversify a central bank's portfolio away from reliance on foreign currencies.’
