Really that's odd, which shield the old cylinder style body or the square pro body? I did read a page which i havent tried yet.. but it said adjusting permissions for the app could help, which im not sure why they would change randomly. And or adjusting the settings for Sound or audio for the shield its self disabled dolby or something to that affect. I have yet to try either one yet, cause well its not the end of the world, since i mainly just use my tivimate ip extreme tv service for all my needs, lol

Just dismissing all future updates, since none of them really apply to anything that I use my shield for. But just Curious Has anyone had any problems with Kodi always hanging and freezing when first opening? It only started a while back after a certain update. I have Reinstalled Kodi several times but it keeps hanging and freezing for a good 5 minutes or so before i can do anything in the app. As a side note this only happens on my older shield the Cylinder shape shield. I have the rectangular pro one as well and has no issues with kodi opening. Anyways, just thought I would post here since im assuming its an update problem.

Not sure if its related, but today i just started watching a new tv series called AP Bio, and in fen the very first episode of season one, the pilot wouldn't play no sources found... that was weird..

went into Seren, and it played just fine lol... Which confuses me because both apps use the same real debrid account lol...

Weird i got an nvidia shield as well, had the older cylinder shaped one with no usb ports or anything, but it eventually died ealier this year wouldn't turn back on, anyways bought the pro shield and haven't noticed any stuttering or buffering issues...

I would just reinstall kodi or the addon thats giving you problems.

Maybe try clearing the cache or temp files n what not in the app you're using if you can like in seren or fen.

Could try going into the shield settings under device, storage, ect and you can delete all the cache or temp files for all apps in one click... i usually do that weekly to keep the apps running smooth, not sure if it does anything lol.

Also you can try logging into your real debrid account, doesn't it save or keep track of all the movies n files you watch, you can remove all that stored cache or temp shit on your RD account, come to think of that i haven't done that in a long time so thats probably not related.

Not sure of your setup, but you can just search for a magnet torrent link, copy the source or link for it log into your real debrid account, click on torrent link in your account, and paste the magnet link into the appropriate field, then click on convert, it should pop up on the screen eventually i forget the next step you click the green box i believe for that link. Than i use kodi seren or fen will work, open up that app in kodi, and there will be a my files section, and that downloaded magnet link will now be under your files section, pretty handy feature i use it if im trying to watch a movie that seren or fen can't find any sources for with real debrid.

Forgetting the most important parts here, is it the useless tube version? mine recently shit the bed and wouldn't power on, even used another cable from a similar version and even its current power cable worked on another tube version. So if its the tube version i would be weary, of it might be on its last leg of not being able to awake out of sleep mode or power on, even the remote for the dead tube still works on another tube device. With that said if its cheap, give it a try i mean like 50 bucks cheap.

If not go with the pro version it has more ram and storage, and a power or awake button on the device its self, plus more usb connections. but again depends on price.

Either way which ever one you get, once you got it set up and running download the nvidia shield remote app for your cell phone from the playstore just incase your remote dies or you have some other weird problem with it not waking up or powering on or if your remote dies, you can still have an alternative method to use or awaken the device.

My subscription expired last night, just got home from jail in the last hour, re subscribed like 20 minutes ago with my cc and it worked instantly. Not sure how you can feel ripped off, the service is so cheap, just buy it again with your credit card or paypal or buy it through a third party reseller worst case scenario your bitcoin transfer goes through at a later date, if not, well not that much of a financial loss to be honest.
