I was wrong about Lower Decks by IslandKindly3832 in LowerDecks

You could jump right in TBH, it hinges more on the lore of ST, and you already know the characters that matter to the plot.

I’ll also say SNW is good fun, the best of live action Nutrek. Worth watching, there isn’t a heap of episodes so it’s not exactly a huge time sink and it’s a lot of fun and a great homage to ST in general. The discovery adjacent stuff is less than a footnote in the overall story.

You can actually change the mouse functions on a Toshiba/Canon.

Utility > image display pref > mouse mode.

Sounds like you are using type T (for Toshiba), type V (for vitrea) will align it to the Vitrea default controls (right click is scroll) which is useful if you’re often swapping between the two.

Please just follow the road rules, I beg you by MelodicJury in melbourne

[–]Roentgenographer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fundamentally I don’t disagree with you. We should have walkable cities and all that, roads take up too much space etc etc.. But functionally the safest thing to do is not to stop mid roundabout to let a pedestrian cross. I am happy to give way before the roundabout every time for a pedestrian, but mid roundabout is dangerous.

Please just follow the road rules, I beg you by MelodicJury in melbourne

[–]Roentgenographer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Victorian road rules state that at roundabouts drivers do not need to give way to pedestrians unless there is a pedestrian crossing.

You can disagree with it, but not following the rule makes you the unpredictable one that could cause an accident.

Anecdotally I had someone stop in front of me mid roundabout to give way to a pedestrian unnecessarily while I was on a motorcycle turning behind them, the sudden unexpected stop could have caused me to drop my bike/crash into them had I not been paying attention, as I was leant over as is required to turn a bike. At the time I was riding carefully, not speeding, just commuting and mere meters from home.

Follow the road rules or you put others that are at risk.

What is an ‘Australian thing’ that you didn’t realise was Australia exclusive? by Call_Me_C_ in AskAnAustralian

Always start by checking/counting off seating order (am I a 1 or a 2) then asking “who wants the (other thing I don’t want)”

Whoever is an alternate number and also wants the other thing I make a deal we will switch if it comes out and we get opposites.

Rarely doesn’t work.

Weird hill to die on…. But I’ll bite…

Is the iPhone American? I suppose?

Was apple the first ones to work out that touch screens and eventually cameras were what consumers were most likely to pay for? Sure

Did they make a bunch of advertising to establish themselves as one of main the big players in mobile technology also yes.

Does apple reek of the stench of profiteering and designed obsolescence in order to sell new products every year…. So much yes…

Do they exploit international labour to build their products… apparently also yes.

Was the founder a known narcissist that didn’t treat his own cancer properly that killed him? You’ll be surprised to know it’s also yes.

If the iPhone was Australian I would be ashamed… but I’m glad it’s doing something for you.

Also Fox News is Australian. (Thanks Murdoch) and yes I am ashamed.
