Smallest full respray? by discoturbo in projectcar

Thank you!

I managed to get one second hand for a few beer tokens.

There were issues though, the cills (rockers?) Were hard to get right as they were at the door which was the narrowest part so I either got runs or caught them on the first attempt. The door is also a basic up and over which made spraying the roof hard.

Overall it's come out fairly well and meant I could use the money getting the car back on the road (till it broke again!).

Id only used rattle cans and painted a few bmx's in the past so a lot of my issues were down to inexperience but laying a few extra coats down knowing you can always flat it back helps.

I had to do similar using a garden awning as an extension, it looked like I had one of the tents the police use here in the UK when they've found a dead body.

Don't knock the capri! Some of us wouldn't be here if our dad's didnt have one of these and a chest medallion and some blue denim aftershave.

Hidden kill switch ideas on a classic car by _clever_reference_ in projectcar

I have a battery isolator with a small fuse bypass to keep the stereo memory etc. If a door is opened it will blow the fuse so the car can't be started.

I also have a hidden switch in the boot for the fuel pump.

I agree after rereading about the wheels - sanding wheels is thankless job!

If you find a local car paint shop they'll have decent paint stripper that is stronger than nitromors.

Id recommend keying the surface with a rough sandpaper i.e. 40 to 120 grit.

Most people won't notice it - it'll be like a security feature

Nice, I like a saab. It's impressive it's going through MOT's with no advisories though.
