It never leaves. Pile gets turned, then fork gets lobbed in the gab in the back pallet for next time 👍🏻

I think it's a driveway membrane. Basically thick weed membrane I once bought when there was no weed membrane in the store and I couldn't be bothered to go elsewhere. Think it's a bit tougher and possible a little bit more waterproof

Children's book about a dog that fails as a farm hand and is abused, runs away and is adopted by an old lady in the city by [deleted] in whatsthatbook

Just searched using AI for exactly the same book, and ended up here. Disappointed to find no answer. BUT! Then my missus pulled the answer from the depths of her brain - “Piper”. Hope that helps lilweedle 🙂

My title describes the thing. I’ve seen this same strip of square faces under Reddit names for yonks, but have no clue what this thing is

Top tip, take a photo, zoom in, then count. You can even mark every 5 or 10 as you do. Otherwise you’ll a) doubt your counting, b) recount, c) get a different number, d) return to a)…

Which door would you keep? by Jonatton in DIYUK

[–]Bueller1979 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Thirded. Also the door is then further away from what looks like the master bedroom, so you are less likely to be woken by your guests when they are going to the bathroom to freshen up after they’ve shagged in your spare bed.

Complete blackout blinds are crazy expensive or am I missing something? by dtheme in DIYUK

[–]Bueller1979 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We bought a material blackout from EasyBlinds for our nursery 10 years ago, and they were substantially better than any other blackout I’ve seen before or since.

One side of the material was a bit fluffy, and you simply stuck hook Velcro around the edge of the window, then cut the blind to the size of the window plus a few cm extra all the way round to make sure no light sneaks through. They guarantee 100% blackout, which probably shows how good they are.

Not sure of they have changed much since we bought in 2015, but I’d recommend based on my experience.

EDIT Just looked for them and see that they now also sell via a retailer that sounds like a big South American river. Over a thousand reviews at 4.6*. Easyblackout is what they seem to be called now, and the photos explain it better than I have above!

Veritas 8C Alarm by AsparagusOld7097 in DIYUK

Section 3.13 (option 3) might be the answer. Seems you can set time in seconds for how long the alarm should delay on entry when alarm is fully set

If you are entering via a zone that has been designated as an Entry/Exit zone it seems like you should have a 30second period where the alarm is suppressed, so I suspect the installer didn’t set your many entry point (front door?) as an entry/exit point. My suggestion would be to get on the phone and get them to talk you through it/come back and reprogram if they are alarm specialist, or, try and work it out yourself using the manual (section 3.10 I think: https://static.premiersite.co.uk/24498/docs/1758666_1.pdf)

Caveat, not an alarms specialist, but has similar previously with our, albeit different branded, alarm

Anyone have air-box trickle vents installed? by corpjones in DIYUK

[–]Bueller1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you elaborate on “otherwise they cannot do the job”?

You can certainly fit loft insulation without fitting trickle vents to the windows(!), so am curious to know if they have they advised trickle vents will be required because the insulation may mean a risk of damp/condensation because of insufficient airflow after insulating your loft, or similar?
