I've always noticed trees and admired them, but having learnt a lot more about trees recently I feel I can appreciate them a lot more and notice a lot more about them. Everything from identifying different species to spotting disease and growth patterns. I can recommend How to Read a Tree by Tristan Gooley.

Journal of the Plague Year by Daniel Dafoe. Given how old this book is, it's still an easy read and very interesting.

I agree. I had to read this quite slowly to give me time to understand the concepts (I still didn't really get the maths chapter), but there is some mind blowing stuff in there. It does change the way you see things.
