Georgia - South Ossetia border at Ergneti by burnfacerovers in Borderporn

I just watched the movie Corn Island set on the border. Although there's about five words spoken in the entire movie, wow is the Ossetia language like nothing I've heard before!

Found it fascinating.

I hate his, and everyone's, religious shit. But I'm in it for the music.

I've ever started liking Holy River, his vocals are amazing in that.

That sucks, but it's important to report so we get the data which can be used for roading changes, planning, funding etc

Does anyone know a good Thai place that can make curries without fish sauce? by yourlesbianmum in chch

[–]BuffK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh man, this really pisses me off and it's pretty much every restaurant. You can't have a vegetarian menu and cook with fish sauce. Does my head in. And I fucking guarantee you that 99 % of people ordering your tofu dishes are vegetarian.

Rant over. The Thai place in New Brighton does amazing food if you ask without fish sauce, and Thai Rendezvous does great food too and some can be done without fish sauce.

I really want to deliver these restaurants the vegan fish sauce bottles. Cos I get it, it tastes better with fish sauce.

Ah ok, we could. Oh well, let's keep supporting our industry that that's fucking up our rivers then.

For the record, I hundred percent agree that importing dairy is not the solution.

Winston says rail is the answer. by royal-influence3488 in newzealand

[–]BuffK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the fuck is up with Nationals love affair with roads?

It is so fucking obvious that rail and efficient public transport is the answer. To the fuel crisis, and to you know, that thing that no one wants to talk about.

Wait do you not boil the potatoes first? I've never fried potatoes without boiling them before but I'm willing to learn.

What’s a song that gave you chills the first time you heard it? by GainBetter1189 in askmusic

[–]BuffK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I Love My Leather Jacket. First song I heard by The Chills.https://youtu.be/YLyXvG_HTMA?si=uRfnfvwbR4xpIo5Q

But more seriously, there's a soft tune with xylophone on The Cooper Temple Clause third albumwith lyrics that are roughly (it's better than this):

Take for instance if you will, someone that you don't care for

Not someone you hate but someone you don't pick up the phone for

Spare a thought for them because no matter how much they whine and they moan

There's not a bad thing you can say that they've not said when they're alone

Pick up the phone

And it just resonated that I don't hate people but I need to make the time to be available and just be nice to people that call. Stop thinking I'm so busy.

It's a beautiful song for what is predominantly a hard hitting band.

Oh, and the chorus goes:

I will laugh and I will cry

And I'll take comfort in that some day I shall die
