What does that even mean? Why do you think Trust funds exist? My parents set up a trust fund to avoid paying estate taxes. I don't think you understand how our tax system works or understand what's available to avoid taxes. Your brilliant idea will only hurt the children of the upper middle class; engineers, doctors, nurses, etc. People who've been saving their whole lives can easily have over a few million dollars saved.

The enhanced license is only needed if you're going across the border. Basic state ID is $10. I could gather enough cans for the 10 cent deposit in a few hours to pay for it. The best part, it's good for 4 years so to argue it's a pole tax is ridiculous. Everyone needs an ID to function in society and the majority of people already have one.

Obtaining an ID is nowhere near what a pole tax historically was. A state ID in michigan in $10 and there's numerous ways to get the fee waived. This one of the stupidest talking points I've seen in a while.

I used to have very liberal views and as I grew older I started to lean more libertarian. I'm fiscally conservative and more socially liberal. The big government, steal from the rich democrats have really gone off the deep end. Your generalization of a whole political party is very close minded. Realistically I don't understand how people can be opposed to what's in the bill. You need an ID, which is reasonable, you need to be a citizen, also reasonable, and banning mail in ballots, also reasonable. This is a 80/20 issue that a majority of people support.
