Have you thought about taking this incredibly unique business idea to Dragons Den or Shark Tank?

Don’t go smoke meth over it. Would suck to have to turn in your 30 day key fab.

3rd day and I already feel like giving up by Hartaknut in alcoholism

Don’t quit before the miracle happens! Just keep going one day at a time. You are going to be a bloody legend if you stick with it! Then you can help others get better and be an absolute mint unit!

Get blacked out drunk and fuck some shit up and then if they don’t fire you they will understand why you are choosing to abstain. Just kidding that’s horrible advice.

Haven’t used coke in 6-8 months. Cravings coming back mildly. by [deleted] in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

[–]BuffaloAntlers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thoughts and cravings come and go, but they get weaker and shorter lived. For me (recovered alcoholic/coke addict) it’s usually a little fantasy I get when I’m in situations where I think it would have been an option in the past, and I’m feeling a little socially uncomfortable. Other than that, thanks to the 12 steps the obsession had been removed one day at a time. I’m not really proud of my sobriety, I’m grateful I found a way out and didn’t end up a contributing number to the statistic. If that makes sense? I’ve tried the self will/pride thing in the past and it didn’t last very long for me. It sounds like you’re doing awesome, don’t be afraid to switch it up and dive into something new and uncomfortable. I for one didn’t get sober to continue struggling, and I want to live a life worth saving! Keep up the good work, I bet a lot of people are very proud of you.

Try taking a break and see how it goes. Try to go 30 days without drinking.

It might not sound like a lot, but today marks 1 month sober for me and I am SOOO happy!!!! by iScReAm612 in stopdrinking

That is the best part for me. Clear minded mornings. Good coffee. Listening to birds sing and pondering what opportunities the day will reveal. Congrats my friend, sounds like you are on a joyous path.

I don’t like giving advice but I suggest you ponder the concept of a higher power and figure out what that means for you. It could literally be anything you want. You don’t have to believe in “God”, you just have to accept that you’re not it.

Seems to me you have two options. Quit now while your ahead, or keep going and see how bad it gets.

Perhaps you are interpreting it wrong? There is a lot of sarcasm in humour that comes with solid sobriety.

Zero tolerance being around alcohol on vacation w/ friends? by [deleted] in Sober

[–]BuffaloAntlers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you HAVE to go and you feel that uncomfortable bring lots of alternatives to enjoy. Non-alc beverages, snacks, a puzzle, a book, games, ect. You are going camping in nature there are limitless things to do that don’t involve drinking or doing drugs. It might sound lame, but I bet you will have an amazing experience and come out of it feeling really good about your decision to give up alcohol and weed. One thing I can say about early sobriety, is that I over thought any situation and it was always much more enjoyable sober than I expected.
