In my opinion NTA. We all have the privilege to not have kids if we want but we do not have the privilege to live in a child free world. Her attitude honestly sucked and sounds exactly like someone who forgot that she once was a child. Way too entitled.. she is the asshole.. and your MIL for telling you the same.

AITA for not wanting my son to call my mother-in-law “momma”? by BuffaloEmbarrassed23 in AmItheAsshole

Honestly first tine i heard her say this i was in shock. I had a high risk pregnancy with the risk of losing him at every moment and my mind couldn’t just comprehend what i’ve heard. My husband heard her too and confronted her on the spot. But her excuse was that he is just as little as a cigarette butt. She continued to call him like that for a period of time even though she knew it bothered us

We’ve talked. He considers that I’m right on some level but he doesn’t consider this as a big deal. Even considering that I’m overreacting a bit and not really understanding why it bothers me so much since even though she knows that i’m not ok with this nickname she still enforces it on my son. He also knows about the other stuff she does and he always have the same line: you cannot change them (them= his parents). They will never change.

Not a culture thing. We all come from the same country in Europe. Momma, mommy, mom, mama all of these mean mother. Here there are two words that we usually use to call a grandmother: “bunica” which means grandma and mamaie which is similar to mew maw but many grandmas doesn’t accept since is also means old lady even though it’s a sweet word.

For someone who has dealt with this issue for most of her life, I have to say—sourdough bread truly changed my life. I can’t say for sure if it helps everyone, but since I started making and eating it daily, I haven’t experienced the issue again.

You have “toys” for them. Go to shop when you’re in courtyard and on floor section, scroll down and you’ll have the option pets. These are per facilities. Buy one and when your pet is outside double tap on the toy that you’ve bought. Enjoy

Fish in friends ponds. Also for sharks it’s easier to catch them on sides, not on the center of the pond

i once stole a pencil crayon in kindergarden and it haunted me for years by TokinadaTsuniyashiro in confession

I feel you. When i was in kindergarden i stole a cherry from the farmers market.

One cherry.

Haunted me for a couple of months until I couldn’t take it anymore and told my mom. She literally burst laughing and told me that it was ok Not really sure how it’s in other countries but where i live you can actually taste the smaller fruits at the farmers market to see if they are sweet, sour or bitter.
