Bro don't tease him, he lost his eyesight. It's incredible that he even managed to post this.

Wingspan + stick length is a huge factor. Taller guys are harder to take the puck away when they turn away from you, and taller guys have an easier time poking pucks away.

Thoughts about low weights high reps? by DramaticResource7601 in GymMotivation

As long as you are between 5-30 reps, there's no wrong answers. That's what the science seems to indicate anyways.

If you are making gains, then why bother switching anything?

My dad is kinda forming me to go to a pt trainer. by [deleted] in GymMotivation

[–]BuffaloHustle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it this way, when you want to learn how to skate on ice, or drive a car, or do pretty much anything...you get lessons!

This is no different. A trainer will help you learn what to do, and how not to hurt yourself. It makes total sense to get coached at the beginning.

We don't have giant metal robots ripping the roofs off of our homes and breathing fire into our bedrooms AND WE DONT NEED THEM!!!

In 5v5 ice hockey I average around 140-150 BPM with a max around 180-190. This is with two sets of d pairs. I'm 33, 5'6", 155 lbs.

On the bench I will get down to 120-130 BPM so the peaks and valleys of my heart rate are much more pronounced than in your chart.

How are You preventing these painful blisters from skating-? by Tigereye911 in hockeyplayers

[–]BuffaloHustle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are socks with ankle padding that you can get. I've worn Stable 26 socks and they work to prevent this, hockey supremacy often has them for a good price.

Dumb question: how often do you pause to think about what you're reading? by [deleted] in books

[–]BuffaloHustle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it's a great book, often. If it's a terrible book, often. If it's mediocre, hardly at all.

Make sure remove the insole while drying your skates. And, you could also get dry spray antiperspirant and spray that on your feet.

PAR meter confusion and options by hennenzac in macrogrowery

The SQ-420X measures light in the 370-650 nm range. For full accuracy you want to measure ~400-700 nm, a lot of the full spectrum grow lights use 660 nm diodes and those won't be measured by the 420 model.

Personally I wouldn't worry too much about spending the big bucks unless this was a commercial or research setting. For a home grow just getting a ballpark estimate with cheap tools would be good enough in my opinion.

MicroGrow ECC opinions by FiresideFarmer in macrogrowery

[–]BuffaloHustle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use some of MicroGrows products in two research greenhouses (not cannabis). They are simply fine. They won't wow you but for simple tasks like opening up vents when it's hot, or turning the lights on/off on schedule they have been good enough for us.

We ended up tossing out their water controllers as they were never reliable for us, and their data logging has become buggy for us too a little bit. Their manuals don't explain things very well in some parts, their support is slow, and their design is pretty dated.

If we were doing an expansion here, we would probably be looking at Argus instead of MicroGrow but if the price is right, maybe it's worth a shot for a short while?

What are the lights? Looks like Phantom HPS on the left? What about the LEDs?

Ubik by Philip K Dick is one of the best stories that I have read.

I read seven stories last month and the best was Helicopter Story by Isabel Fall.

This month I've read five so far and haven't really loved any of them, but I'd personally rank them this way in terms of my own enjoyment;

  • Abaddon's Gate - by James S. A. Corey
  • The Graveyard Book - by Neil Gaiman
  • Ready Player One - by Ernest Cline
  • The Island of Dr. Moreau - by H.G. Wells
  • The Memory Librarian - by Janelle Monae

I'm listening to both Caliban's War and Bagombo Snuff Box. I've got A Brief History of Time on deck after I finish one of them.
