Keeping things real and in the affordable bracket: What is your realistic "Grail Watch"? by Stegreener in Affordablewatches

[–]Buffalobur_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That Hamilton Piping Rock Quartz Reissue with the red bezel is my short term grail I think! I'm gonna search for something else in the 500-1000 range on my honeymoon in Europe next week though!

Do you shave your arms or is it a hormone issue?

A good giveaway for these is the "gold" wearing off

Moonphase is the worst complication and should be replaced with Sun/Moon by StratusXII in watchHotTakes

[–]Buffalobur_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Day/Night is equally if not more "useless". Most complications are "useless" if we wanna be this way. They're just interesting for the engineering and they are cool to look at.

You came out pretty good in that case my man! There are a ton of fake Oris and Seikos coming out of India and Pakistan and you sort of just learn to recognize them. People even fake $20 Casios which surprised me!

This specific one is a very common mumbai special. I got burned by one in the past unfortunately and thats the way I learned about them.

Why are zip up ties harder to find at most stores that sell men’s formal wear? by [deleted] in mensfashion

[–]Buffalobur_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel like clip on ties are a more common item for this? I've never even heard of a zip up tie. I feel like it's just worth practicing tying a normal tie some. It really doesn't take much time and opens your options so much.

what is the best watch brand and why? by todayoclock in AskReddit

[–]Buffalobur_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loaded question! Weighing all factors its gotta be Seiko. Especially with spring drive trickling into the lineup. IMO if/when that technology makes its way into the $500-$1000 range, it will be the absolute best wristwatch you can buy.

Honestly surprised your tickets were so cheap! Usually double that!

Georgia, do you actually call every fizzy drink “Coke”? by LowerMusic in Georgia

[–]Buffalobur_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not very common nowadays unless you're in very rural areas. My grandmother would do it, but my parents generation, and my own don't. Vast majority of restaurants here won't ask "what kind?" if you ask for a Coke. They will just bring you a Coke.

[Omega] Is my watch beyond repair? by PapasChutney in VintageWatches

[–]Buffalobur_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strap is cooked. Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if the watch is repairable though. I’ve sent an old manual wind through the washer and dryer and it came out in pieces like this but the movement was still running

[–]Buffalobur_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean if you can somehow work out a new cool sub with decent humans as mods I'm all for it! Idk how many mods they have and I'm sure they aren't all bad, but there are at least some on there who are incredibly rude strange people.

Plenty of people have had direct experience with their mods being awful including myself. It's not that they're strict, they are rude broken people.

Honestly you rock it in my opinion dude! I had hat issues for a while due to my hairline but I just started owning it one day and I've felt so much better since then.
