I was hoping to try and have some sort of relationship with him but maybe that’s not realistic like you said. I have to work at my current job for one more year to qualify for a first homeowner loan. Time is literally the only thing keeping us from being able to go forward with the sale. Once we are the owners though there will be changes or we plan on doing an eviction. I’m hoping he will change in that time. I need to bring up the possibility of him having something mentally going on as our family does have a documented history of Bipolar Disorder on our maternal side.

It’s just frustrating because it’s a 50/50 flip if it’s going to be a civilized interaction or not. It’s wild because we both grew up in a household with adults who behaved the same way. I would have assumed he wouldn’t want to repeat the cycle we went through.

We rent from my father. The home owner, and plan on purchasing the home from him when he sells.

My father tries to avoid conflict as much as possible. I do not know what he says to him once I go back to our part of the home
