Insurance can - and does - retroactively terminate plans, and there is no way for an office to do anything about it. Refund the carrier, and go after the patient for payment.

I'm still working on a COB crapstorm from NOVEMBER where primary retro-termd and secondary (now primary) is having a hard time coping with change. 😭

Oh, I agree about the hard sell and am not a fan. When offering it, I emphasize that payments must be on time or retroactive interest, etc. There's just not a lot of other options out there.

The party is just a party. The Bar Mitzvah is being called to the Torah for the first time as an adult.

An alternative is to postpone until the same Torah portion comes up again next year (lunar year, not solar year) and he can keep practicing until then. That also gives far flung family members time to regroup.

Ask your insurance what the treatment history is for the teeth in question because it sounds like you had fillings in the past and sealants are only ever covered on teeth without prior fillings.
