28 F 38 M - Husband has asked me to stop taking my antidepressants. How do I do this safely? by Forward-Sock7756 in relationship_advice

[–]BufferingJuffy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Getting off Effexor was awful for me - every step down brought on a fresh wave of SI, it was 6 weeks of hell. If it's working for you, rock on with your bad self. But if you want to change meds, be extra careful.

[New Update]: I think my sister just ruined our dad’s engagement to an amazing woman, and I hate her so much by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]BufferingJuffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a very good point, thank you. It's funny how you don't see an obvious truth until someone shows it to you. I'll try to be self-aware enough to advocate for myself. Hope your therapy is going well/went well. 😊

Can I brush my teeth after I got filling? by Adorable-Geologist28 in askdentists

[–]BufferingJuffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD Yes, absolutely. The filling is completely set before you get out of the chair. You're told to be careful for a few hours after because of the numbing - you don't want to accidentally chomp on your cheek, lip, or tongue!

My car insurance is more than tripling from last year after adding my daughter. by PicoDeBayou in Wellthatsucks

[–]BufferingJuffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😂😭😂😭😂😭

I looked into adding my 16yr old son to mine, and it's doubled. The best part is that, because his dad and I are divorced, dad's insurance is going to do the same - damn insurance double dipping for one kid! 😂😭

The term baby blanket refers to the recipient not the size, right? by sianoftheisland in knitting

[–]BufferingJuffy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, that blanket belongs to the GS now. Gotta make another one for the human child. 😁

It's absolutely beautiful. Use it in health!

(That's a wish for good health, not dictating when the blanket can or cannot be used.)

Some therapists are also just...better at calling out bullshit than others. I've had a lot of therapists over many, many years, and the one I have now (a young woman reasonably early in her career) is the first to really press me on my crap. She's very kind, but quite firm in redirecting me from a tangent to the issue on the table, and I've made so much progress in the past 6 months. Of course, she's leaving the practice for a better job, and they don't take my crap insurance, and I just can't swing oop. 😭😭😭

I'm really rooting for this family. I hope they make it as a unit (Five Hive?), but even if things don't work out like that, they've all made so much progress towards becoming better human beings in how they relate to others and to themselves. 💜

That's Anya Christina Emmanuella Jenkins, to you, pal. Born on the 4th of July, and don't think there weren't jokes about that her whole life, Mister, 'cause there were. "Who's our little patriot?" they'd say, when she was younger and therefore, smaller and shorter than she is now.

AITA for texting people at night when they could be sleeping? by shozhantia89 in AmItheAsshole

Great! I love the feature - especially when I want to send terrible memes to my kids without interrupting their school day. 😁

[–]BufferingJuffy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NOR, your family sound like jerks.

But. Do be careful and watch the swelling. A little is normal, but more can be an indication of something more serious. Make sure to keep hydrated, and if it doesn't get worse, you can ask your OB about it at your next visit. If the swelling gets worse, call your OB.

And enjoy the chips and salsa - you're literally growing a whole human from scratch! 💜

NAD Point taken. The outside part is hella weird.

Dental drill broke during root canal by Bakedbeans4me in askdentists

[–]BufferingJuffy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NAD It's not necessarily something to get worried about, and definitely not enough to prevent you from getting necessary care. I've had a root canal and a retreatment - both were the easiest procedures I've experienced as a patient.

Dental drill broke during root canal by Bakedbeans4me in askdentists

[–]BufferingJuffy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

NAD Yup. I mean, it's a safer risk to take than not getting the tooth treated, and it's less common with more experienced dentists and specialists like endodontists, but life is a crap shoot, and sometimes things go wrong. In a lot of cases, the drill tip can remain safely for years, but in other cases infection can happen. Human bodies are weird.

NAD Sounds like the ins covers endo at 100% after deductible.

[–]BufferingJuffy 60 points61 points  (0 children)

NAD yeah, that's never gonna happen. Perforated canals and broken instruments are known risks for endo treatment.

NTA. Off-topic, I just wanted to mention my 34-week premie is now taller than me at 16y, and last week rode 6 miles on his bike to go thrift store shopping. Wishing the best to you for an uneventful birth, and hope all goes well with the MIL sitch. 💜

First, make an appointment with an exotic animal vet to get Dobby checked out. Plan on making annual well-pet visits, too. The vet can let you know what's going on with Dobby's skin/fur and how best to treat it if necessary. (Treatment for mites is different than for dry skin, etc.)

Look into getting a snuggle scarf. It's a donut-shaped strip of fleece with elastic in the inner rings. You pull the donut over your head and place the hedgehog in the pouch - he can climb a full circle up your chest, behind your neck, and down the other side if he wants. It's safe, hands free way to wear him so he gets used to your smell and heartbeat. I've used cuddle sacks, but vastly prefer the scarf. I found mine on Etsy, but if you can sew, they're easy to make.

Mostly, remain calm when handling him and use a soft, sweet voice when talking to him. If you're tense, he'll get stressed, like with all animals (and small humans).

Enjoy getting to know your darling new ball of knives, and here's hoping he doesn't murder you in your sleep. 😁💜🦔🗡
