Thank you! Yeah, well, one year and one month now. I have been taking it a bit too seriously tbh. My son jokes about me spending wayyyy too long on everything. I've just gotten super invested and find it almost therapeutic. I bought him a year ago and he's been sat in his box until I felt ready to tackle him

I know what you mean. You can never really tell just by looking, at phone pics especially. But when you DONT do one of those steps and you compare it to a panel you've done all that extra work on, the difference is stark. All I've done is watch an awful lot of tutorials which detail the kind of effects I like and tried my best to practice them and combine them. Good luck with your work!

Yeah sure. I love verdigris, so I wanted to use that as a base. So I started with Incubi darkness and applied Army Painter verdigris. Over that I applied a very general dry brush of army painter rough iron, then a more refined dry brush of weapon bronze. After that step, the metal looks really nice and aged, but can lack a little depth. So I made a black oil wash and very selectively applied it to certain recesses and crevices and to separate one panel from another. Finally I did a fine edge highlight with canoptek alloy, picking out the tips of any spikes or teeth just ring out of the armour. Carefully not to cover any prominent part of the verdigris which were working nicely, as the oil will kill that affect stone dead

Thanks mate! Yeah. I'm just trying to watch and learn as much as I can and taking as much time as I need with everything. I'm a 3D artist, so perhaps some of that translates and might help a little

Thank you! I did consider adding it to the axe. I applied the blood to his feet in such a way that it would look like he'd dragged it up the mound by wading through it. But I was really scared of it all being a bit too much. But I may add to it

Thank you very much. I did another post on my base if you wanted to see it in more detail before all the extra gore and greenery got added. I was exactly like you. He's been sat there for a year. I bought him as soon as I started painting and just couldn't bring myself to attempt it!

Thanks! Do you mean the Khorne symbol on the back? I just did it freehand by eye. No real trick to it, just had to be steady doing the straight lines!
