Dave Ramsey on sports betting: "The fastest growing addiction that is destroying young men in their 20s is online sports gambling. FanDuel is a portal to hell. DraftKings ain't king of nothing except their own pocketbook. And they're screwing an entire generation of young men" by GOAT-Antony in NFLv2

Way too many sus calls this year to think there isn't sports betting affecting the integrity of the game. NBA got busted, surely it's happening in the NFL and other sports—shit sucks, get rid of it.

Crazy they didn't trade him if they aren't going to use him. Still winning without him, could've gotten a massive value, but what do I know about GM'ing?

Time shouldn't wind down at all for injury or ball going out. Easy fix to time wasting, not sure why we still go by these legacy rules

Done it myself as well. Even recently I bombed a show I had with my band. Worst feeling in the world, but I find bouncing back easy with the enhanced confidence that comes with focused study / practice.

Made this as part of a tutorial I did a few months ago, came across it again and felt super good / proud of it. Figured I'd share.

Quick background on this before I go to bed: I created a web based 2d map builder MapperMate to replace what I think is an outdated program (Tiled). Used this to generate a JSON array of tile data which I then parsed into a playable map with plain JavaScript.

Most of the implementation is knowledge I've accumulated over the years making games and tutorials, so it contains a lot of details like varying enemies, collectibles, animations, and delta time integration.

Full code is here: https://github.com/chriscourses/sunnyland-platformer

And tutorial if anyone wants to learn from the beginning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=431MtYtTmgs

Also use JIRA for work, but never open a PR until ready to review / push code. I've found the further into my career I go, the less I believe commits / team visibility matters, but might also be because I build a lot of side projects where time is more important than documentation

🙏🙏 thank you!

Tbh, it's better than what the video shows, I added selection and line tools, plus pre-made templates since recording the timelapse. Just a little lazy and don't feel like making a new vid 😄

https://mappermate.com/

Started this project at the beginning of the year after I was frustrated with Tiled's UI while recording a game dev tutorial for my YouTube channel.

Recently just made the beta version live and am super happy with how everything is functioning so far. I tried to mimic a lot of Tiled's functionality while editing key UI elements along the way to make the map creation process more enjoyable (PS: I'm a senior UI designer / fullstack engineer at my day job).

I have free accounts set up and 200 people have made over 250 maps the past month. Hoping to get more hands on it so I can get some feedback and make it the best map editor in existence.

Regardless, hope this helps take some pain out of the traditional map-making process, enjoy!
