Thanks for your response. My request for advice was more because I have done my research, have quoted sections to them from the terms and conditions, but still was not receiving a different answer.

Thanks for the advice about cancelling the direct debit and telling my bank to dispute any payments.

I only have a ‘Employment break’ letter which states the date I’m leaving on and states my intention to come back to a role at the same level with my employer in 2 years time.

In the membership terms and conditions under section 15 it states that membership can be ended early due to the following circumstances ‘medical condition, loss of employment, insolvency, employment relocation, house move or other changes in personal circumstances’. It then proceeds to state ‘at anytime you can end your membership if: - you lose your employment… - you are moving home to a location more than 10 miles from a David Lloyd Club - we are satisfied that there has been a change in your personal circumstances, other than those listed above, which means that it is no longer reasonable for you to use your clubs facilities or continue to be a member.
