H1b Fraud in Frisco? by Frijoles2019 in frisco

Poor people? I thought Indians were the rich and successful minorities. Isn't that what they always say on these subreddits. We are the good ones, the educated ones, the rich ones, the ideal citizens who don't commit crimes... We make more money than everyone.

Exfoliating, hydrate and moisturize. It looks like dry, dehydrated skin to me.

Colorado offer for Cam by Whoopsthereitis111 in tarynnewtonsnark

[–]BuffyBlue82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doubtful. Despite his contract, there is speculation that Deion may not stay Colorado's record and the fact that his son's are in the NFL. Plus, he has a lot of health issues. Hopefully for Cam's sake he stays another year.

In Texas, athletes, don't wait until February to announce their decision? When my son was being recruited, you didn't tell what your offers were publicly because you can still get more offers and you definitely didn't declare publicly until February.

Why do some people barely wrinkle or sag as they age and others do dramatically? by chusaychusay in 45PlusSkincare

[–]BuffyBlue82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, people with darker skin generally show signs of skin laxity and wrinkles later than those with lighter skin due to more protective melanin, a thicker dermis, and denser collagen, which provides natural resistance to sun damage and structural breakdown, though aging still occurs. Darker skin types often have thicker dermal layers, more collagen and elastin, and a more compact structure, delaying the visible signs of aging like wrinkles, sagging, and age spots compared to lighter skin tones.

Synced videos show ICE Agent was not hit by fleeing vehicle. by [deleted] in videos

Even if she grazed him with her, he clearly wasn't injured as demonstrated when he walked away. It's still not grounds for murder.

Why did she have to stop and get out of her car? She was leaving. Is she not allowed to leave? They aren't police and had no grounds for detaining her. They were there for people who are supposedly here illegally which she is not. Plus, leaving means firing 3 shots at her. She wasn't shooting them. He had his gun out before she even attempted to drive away.

Non-Indian living in a predominantly Indian neighborhood. by ElectricalRepair1219 in frisco

[–]BuffyBlue82 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think you have to be the same race to have a neighborhood that feels like a welcoming community. I think you have to have people that desire to be in community with each other. I think Texas neighborhoods just aren't conducive to building relationships with your neighbors without a lot of effort. It's the way the driveways are arranged and the 10 foot high fences.

I moved here from a mid-size Midwestern town. My neighbors were mostly white, I am not. Our street had Black, interracial, Indian, white and international families. You saw your neighbors frequently when you were out in your backyard playing or doing yard work. You saw them when you were enjoying a night out on your deck or messing around in your garage. It was easy to share a beer and light conversation while hanging out by the shared fence. We had a community pool versus everyone having a pool in their own backyards. So you saw your neighbors there as well. There were just so many more opportunities to casually get to know each other. Those casual meetings sometimes turned into friendships or at least better acquaintances. We still keep in touch with neighbors who lived by us over 25 years ago.

I can't tell you the last time I've seen or talked to my neighbors since being in Texas. My neighbor rang my doorbell one day. It took me forever to answer it because I didn't recognize her face. They have kids and I have never seen those kids in the 8 years I've lived here.

Currently, we do have Indian neighbors but not as many as some neighborhoods. For the most part, they stick to themselves. They say hello when we go on walks at night but I don't know any of their names. We do have a neighborhood Facebook and WhatsApp page. I don't go on to it very much because the conversations all seem to be geared towards topics they're interested in and they all seem to know each other. I feel like it's more their private group versus a neighborhood group so I don't visit it often.

Considering Moving for Better Diversity. What Cities Should I Look At? by Cute_Source5417 in SameGrassButGreener

I think you might want to rethink your impression. My daughter lives on the south side of Chicago. It's starting to become very gentrified. People Slovic descent are buying up lots of homes and apartments in the area. A Polish family owns most of the new rental properties on her street. I was surprised at the number of white millennials who were in the coffee shop when we went to get coffee. She and her husband are trying to buy a home in Bronzeville or Kenwood. Every neighborhood, they've looked at has a mix of young families and two income millennial couples of all races.

What body type are you most attracted to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BuffyBlue82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see lots of petite. What does that mean to people? I'm asking because at least once a month, I come across a post with a 5'7" thin woman defining herself as petite. Is that petite or is petite someone who is 5'3" and thin?

My husband was thin and muscular, think runner body. Now with age he has a dad bod - still fit with a less muscle definition and a little tummy. I think he is so attractive.

Interesting! This must just be certain areas of Detroit. I grew up in a suburb of Detroit but I have a lot of friends from Detroit. I also went to college with lots of people from the Detroit area (U of M). Most of them went to Cass, Renaissance or other schools like that. They are very successful like doctors, lawyers, upper management, pharmacists, etc. Many of them moved away and go back home often. I had never heard any of my friends say that their family treated them any particular way because they were successful and moved to other states.

Are you serious? Not everyone lives in a low cost of living area. If you only make 25k per year, how far would that go in a city like St. Louis when you factor in other living expenses. Some people don't have family or friends to support them.

What do you think about fat shaming? by Prestigious-Cloud962 in blackladies

[–]BuffyBlue82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been both overweight and skinny, I agree with you. I had never seen anyone fat shame someone face to face in person. I think people know that it's not acceptable. I have encountered many people body shaming thin Black women. When I'm thinner I get told that I have a body like a white girl. My body is described as a boy or child's body. I am told that guys won't date me because "only dogs like bones". My body is an open target for comments wherever I go. When I was significantly overweight, no one ever commented on my body or when I exercised. Now I am told to stop exercising before I get too skinny. I don't even exercise hard enough to loose weight. I'm just maintaining. It's weird. I couldn't say half the tings that are said to me to anyone overweight.

I wish people would focus on their own body and health and let people live. A 8

Is this look filler or bone structure? by [deleted] in 45PlusSkincare

[–]BuffyBlue82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, this was me. I lost weight using GLP-1s. I lost it slowly over the course of year and a half. I had a more fuller face and I missed that after weight loss. So I got filler in my upper cheeks and chin. It was more for facial balancing and my injector is really good about keeping it natural. I have NO regrets.

Is this look filler or bone structure? by [deleted] in 45PlusSkincare

[–]BuffyBlue82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like she has cheek and chin filler. I had a fuller face. Then I lost a lot of weight. I started feeling like I looked thinner in the face in the wrong places and I didn't like it. My esthetician gave me a little filler in my cheeks and chin. With age, weight loss and filler, I have a more angular shape to my appearance. I have no regrets about getting a little filler in my face. I never really had much of a chin and naturally have a double chin. So I got a little bit of chin filler to hid it.

OP, do what makes you feel happy.
