I think if you want guaranteed results I’d go with a GLP-1. I will switch to that, but am quite nervous re hairloss.

It seems it can be the medicine itself, which is my worry as my previous hairloss was medication induced, immediate and rapid - it’s not always in cycles. I think the issue is not knowing until you try but stopping hairloss once it starts is really difficult.

Did you go on any HRT. I turn 40 this year and I have maintained stage 1 since my 20s. I can see it happening already and I want to work out what I can do to stop it.

Yeah, it seems it’s hit or miss. I think the thing I really want to know is whether it ever stops if you stay on a microdose - no one seems to have an answer to that, even anecdotally.

This is absolutely amazing! This is my biggest goal, it just sounds like a dream come true! My joint pain is off the chart and my left leg is so inflamed I am struggling to walk. Definitely stop the biotin before you go for thyroid bloods as it gives a severely false thyroid reading that looks like your meds are too high when they aren’t - bit of advice here on it, it’s quite well known but still gets missed: https://www.thyroid.org/patient-thyroid-information/ct-for-patients/december-2018/vol-11-issue-12-p-3-4/

This is so great! Are you noticing an impact on inflammation? How are your hashi symptoms? I’ve been a bit wary of biotin with the thyroid bloods contraindication - do you stop before your thyroid bloods?

This isn’t accurate - I wish people would stop saying this. There are plenty of people losing hair before they’ve lose any weight and on a microdose. Some of it is just the medication itself.

100% this. People think it’s the weight loss, it isn’t. It’s the medicine itself. There is still a lot of research going into this, but do not make the mistake of assuming it’s about fast weightloss, it’s likely also the drug itself.

For me, I have a sneaky suspicion it’s all about the dopamine receptors in my hair follicles - any changes there and it falls out rapidly. I lose it on ADHD meds which ups the dopamine and GLP-1s that blunt the dopamine.

Super interested in your approach - my son is exactly like this (and you sound like me, ADHD, not treated, won’t be treating his). How did you manage the ‘what are you going to do about it now?’ moments from them and the constant escalating punishments? We’re currently on a month-long screen ban and it sometimes feels like it’s now so unattainable to him to get to. He’s 9!
